  Folks, this is a $42 wrist watch. And I think it is an incredible value for $42. So here are some thoughts and comments:  First, the nylon band is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the resin bands found on most of the Casio G-Shock watches. The band seems stiff at first, but in short order it will soften up and contour to your wrist

  On the down side: The the leather ends that attach the band to the watch are pretty much completely worn out, but the fabric looks essentially new. I don't think it is ready to fall off my wrist, but the band is starting to look a bit shabby.  After 4 years of hard use and abuse it is time to replace the strap and possibly the battery. As I mentioned in my initial review, the cost of a replacement cloth/leather band and a new battery come quite close to the current price of a totally new watch (about $38 today)

 The timer, barometer/altimeter, alarms and displays are all still working as they should. The alarm is still loud enough to wake me up when needed. None of the functions have failed. The watch is still waterproof (I have not replaced the main seal/gasket)

Good, rugged and comfortable watch

 It's not a good choice if the main thing you want to be able to do is glance at it very quickly and see instantly what time it is. That said, the buttons work well and it looks like it can take some abuse. I've had lousy luck getting Timex watches to last, so if this proves to be durable, it's probably worth it even though I paid extra for features I'll never use.

the thermometer is useless because you're supposed to have the watch off of ...

 So, I tend to not wear it when I am warmer that comfort allows. The back-light lasts only for what seems to be 1.5 or 1.0 seconds, I find myself pushing it more than once to see the items I am wishing to see

Exactly what I needed/wanted in a digital watch

This watch is smaller than the 50 mm I expected but the quality look and feel makes up for it. I presume they measured side to side including the sensor on the left side of the crown. Numbers are smaller than expected in the face of the timepiece but clean and clear. Strap is 100% great

 I replaced the battery and it worked for about 12 hours, then died. I replaced the battery again, same results.  Since it is past the 1-year point I'm not even going to bother contacting Casio. From what everyone else says it would be a wasted effort

 It's very simple, its elegant, its understated, and the details here are readily apparent when you see it in person. So let's take a look at this watch. on a macro level, you can see a very nice texture to the dial. that texture is replicated on your handset just outside of the Lumiere that's pretty cool to see and then also on your day wheels

 The dimensions: What's really impressive about this is we're about 11 millimeters overall in height and we're on that later, but just really. Pleasant Modern Sport dimensions: I Think it wears very well on the wrists I Like the presence I Like how strong these lugs are. You know the brushed case with the ever so slight polished bevel on the case edges just make this makes this look really good. Really aggressive looking on the wrist I think the the lugs kind of protrude out and so I don't know I Just think it has a good presence about it

 I think that's really nice now though. The reason why I think this looks so good. at least this dial on the execution is because we have a double dome sapphire crystal with double AR coating on the inner and outer surfaces and it's super coated so you see a beautiful iridescent blue sheen when you get reflection of harsh light and it just it looks so much fun. I Really like when I see this on various watches, not all watches, but a some of them

 Now just in closing, let me talk about the strap real quick. This strap is made by Santoni and you can see instead of a subtle taper, there's a dramatic taper when it when it goes down there. I Think that's a cool little detail. It wouldn't work on all watches, but for some reason it works really well on this mark 18 and I Like how deep black the strap is on one side and how bright almost a red orange it is on the other the strap is made in Italy It's actually really nice quality

IWC Schaffhausen Mark XVIII Review

After browsing through innumerable listings I decided on the IWC Mark XVIII Pilot’s watch, what most appealed to me was is its understated aesthetic. The watch has a classic tool watch design, with a sleek 11mm profile. After keeping my eye out for a while I came across an ‘unworn’ Mark XVIII on Chrono24 and the price was just right.

IWC Mark XVIII: The Mark XVIII has a new blue leather strap and honestly I love the look of it on this one more than the brown OEM strap. It has been the perfect weekend wear even though it has been losing about 2 minutes a day recently.

. IWC has super comfortable fully brushed bracelet, clasp with micro adjustments, very nice proportions (40mm, 11mm thick and 50 lug to lug), excellent finishing and overall is an excellent watch for someone who is intending to stay a bit under the radar.
