 They do. It does come apart, You take this all the way to the left and if you don't take these beans out, they'll be all over the floor just saying. So take the beans out, take this all the way to over to here and it will remove and then the top burr pulls right out and you can clean the one that's left in there and you can clean the topper as well. Put it back together and you're good to go

 Hmm. It's very smooth. There's no bitterness, there's no bitter aftertaste. It's just a really good cup of coffee

 The unit comes with the base clear bean container that holds eight and a half ounces of beans, bean container lid, ground coffee container that has a max line and holds four ounces of ground coffee. Don't fell above the max line because coffee can back up into the feeder channel and cause the motor to burn out. A small cleaning brush, measuring cup, and instruction manual. You can set the timer from five to 60 seconds to use line the black dot up on the container with the white part over here

 I'll pour in one cup of coffee. This is a medium to dark roast put the lid on I'm gonna use the fine setting I'm using the fine setting because I'm gonna make coffee in my arrow press. I'll turn the timer to 6. There's my brown coffee

I'm happenstance about my unit maintenance, I've probably taken it apart and cleaned it out an average of every 6 months or so

 5 years ago (2015). It's a crime because I use the Capresso 560.01 almost daily as I switch beans a bit based on price and availability so my preferred whole bean is not always what I've got for my daily cup.  I usually brew and therefore grind about 1

Excellent output and consistency but a few minor design flaws to make it just short of perfect.

 I will have to fill it in with epoxy or a metal slug, or something else more permanent, that won't end up getting ground into coffee later.  There are some issues with the bean hopper as well. So, firstly, the burr sits right under the bean hopper. The hopper is open in the bottom, so that if you take the bean hopper off and you have beans in it, they will spill all over the floor, as there is nothing to keep the beans in

 It would be nicer if somehow the apron under the burr was slanted towards the outside, so grinds naturally drained into the hole, instead of the flat setup that doesn't really send that any way in particular at all. Maybe it also would have been helpful to have a chute that was a size I could actually fit some sort of a tool down, since it's really also not steep enough to encourage grounds to exit to the bin.  One of the main peeves that I have is that under the bean hopper there is an uncovered countersunk screw head that sits atop the burr, which has this little COFFEE BEAN sized hole, and every single time you use the grinder exactly one bean gets stuck in this hole, and then I have to clean it out with a steak knife. It's a small thing, but it's redonkulious that some capresso engineer thought that would be a good idea

Firstly, I use this machine MAINLY for making espresso grinds, (on the last highest FINE setting), and usually one or two at a time. So my review will be set around the expectations in this task.  I used to work in a coffee shop and make 30 espresso's every morning, so while this is my first grinder i've purchased, it is definitely not my first time at the grinder rodeo. You may assume that I might not quite be a complete ignoramus about all things grinder

  The biggest issue, is that even with less oily beans, if you make grind beans for a double shot, the machine retains a whole lot of grounds in it. I usually need to put 2.5 servings of beans to get 2 servings of espresso. I go back and forth, when cleaning the machine daily, between completing the task before or after, but it's time consuming either way

Great espresso grinds, but it's a pain to pull apart for even more painful cleaning.

My thanks to other reviewers -- whose comments regarding the wide selection of coffee mills enabled me to make the fortunate selection of theCapresso 560 Infinity Conical Burr Grinder, Brushed Silver, 8.5-Ounce . Having used it almost every day for several weeks, I find hardly anything negative to say about this unit (but see below), but the scope of this review does not extend to making espresso or other brews requiring special types of beans or especially fine grounds. Near-ideal coffee mill for home use

 I can drink the hyper-crazed-detailed-small-batch-boutique-roasted-single-origin-omgomgomgomgomg, stuff from a commercial-grade Bunn machine in a gas station in the middle of nowhere, stuff from a 20 year old Mr. Coffee in someone's house. Long way of saying that I can appreciate many flavor profiles, but I can also be content with many as well. I can snob it up, I can slum it up

This is an initial review as the grinder showed up last night, I ground a bit to test it relative to my old grinder, and I ground and brewed from it this morning.  Quick and Dirty:  Pro:  1. The grinder has the functionality to grind from "gravel" to "powder". French press is totally viable off of this grinder, and I would presume Turkish is as well

I am spending 2 months at my parents' place, but since they don't have any device that could produce anything close to decent coffeewise, I decided to order and try it out. I also ordered a Eureka Mignon XL to replace my old Breville SGP (I will ship it home when my stay ends), and to meet my grinding needs from V60 pour over to Picopresso. My first few shots with it were okay but they improved dramatically as I was getting more familiar with my new grinder.

Any experience with any of the two? Seems like picopresso is not easy to find in EU. Sha someone wait or nanopresso is good enough?

Wacaco picopresso or nanopresso

This is a great grinder. I was upgrading from a Baratza Sette 270. The Oro Mignon XL is night and day difference on noise compared to the Sette. It is as quiet or quieter than I even hoped it would be

 I am not quite getting as much difference in clarity as I hoped for with the flat burrs compared to the Sette's conical burrs, but I still have no complaints. Over all, it's easy to use, looks even better in person, is super quiet, very consistent, easy to adjust the grind, and produces great espresso.

 The Oro Mignon XL is night and day difference on noise compared to the Sette. It is as quiet or quieter than I even hoped it would be. The first half pound of grounds were so fluffy that I couldn't grind straight into a portafilter without a funnel or I'd make a mess! That has changed as it's broken a bit, and it's not as crazy fluffy now, but still great. The Mignon XL is giving me a bit of an improvement in terms of flavor, which seems to be getting better as it's used more

Fantastic Grinder

For the price, fit and finish is poor. I disassembled to clean the burrs and inspect the components due to clogging. Kind of disappointing to see how this unit was assembled with roughly finished parts. Also the grinder dials in easy, but lots of build up in the chute continues to be annoying

The Mignon XL has proven to be all that I hoped for. Its stepless grind setting is precise and consistent. It is an excellent single dose grinder and has almost no retention. The grind, once set, delivers identical shots in terms of weight volume and taste- shot after shot

I bought the Eureka Mignon XL to replace an aging Baratza Vario that was giving me problems with consistency and repeatability. The Vario has been a workhorse and an excellent grinder but it was time to upgrade.

 It is an excellent single dose grinder and has almost no retention. The grind, once set, delivers identical shots in terms of weight volume and taste- shot after shot. Highly repeatable.

 The hopper is functional but does not inspire confidence and my guess is that it will never outlast the rest of the machine. It is made of what feels like thin, brittle plastic and would be easily cracked if the screw that holds it on the machine was over-tightened. The tab that shuts the hopper to allow it to be removed while loaded with beans is a poor design and, in my case, does not completely close the chute. A quality hopper could not significantly increase the cost of this otherwise excellent grinder
