 So that's a great value there But if you're a professional who knows that you need the 24-70mm f2.8 And if you're gonna be pairing this up with like 70-200mm then obviously you don't need the additional focal length So the choice is completely yours What is also interesting though is that even though this lens cost two and a half times more than the 24-105mm If you spend a little more money, like when I say a little more money, maybe about $700 You can also get the 28-70mm f2 lens So if you really need that fast zoom Then and if you don't mind the additional weight and size then that's also a great option as well The size and weight of this lens is about the same as the 15-35mm that I reviewed a couple of weeks ago And it's actually a little bit heavier at just over 900 grams. So it's about 60 or 70 grams heavier than the 15-35mm but when they were attached to my camera I couldn't really feel the difference and the design of the lenses are also about the same except that on the 24-70mm there's a zoom lock and Unlike on the 15-35mm, the lens extends to the longest point at its longest focal length It was the opposite on the 15-35mm. It rained pretty much the entire time I was in England so quite unintentionally It was a great time for me to test the weather sealing of this lens And I'm happy to say the lens performs perfectly well and based on my experience most lenses perform Okay in the rain, but when you walk in and out of buildings because of the humidity and the heat sometimes the insides of the lenses can get quite fogged up and sometimes you have to wait for hours or Sometimes a few days and for them to completely dry out, but that never happened with this lens So I was very happy with that overall just like the 15-35mm everything about the lens is great

 It was almost cheating. Normally for travel and street photography I prefer something a little smaller and lighter but at least with the lens like this you don't have to carry all that many other lenses with you in your bag and That's the trade-off for the size and weight of this lens and also in London There are lots of tourists with cameras So it's pretty easy to blend in with your camera as well If you do want something a little smaller and lighter, there's also the 24-105mm f4 And for most people who are not professional event photographers I would still recommend this lens over the 24-70mm because well The 24-70mm is about two and a half times more expensive than this and yes You get the slightly bigger aperture but with the 24-105mm you get the additional 35 millimeters of focal length and You're really not gonna see the whole lot of difference in image quality and with most modern full-frame cameras the ISO performance difference between f2.8 and f4 isn't gonna be that dramatic and of course if you're a Professional who shoots a lot in dark environments or at venues where you're not allowed to use flash Then you need all the help you can get and if you're a professional, you'd know what you need But for most people I think the 24-105mm will be just fine also when you're shooting portraits I think I prefer the images that I got from the 24-105mm at 105 millimeters at f4 over the images that I got with the 24-70mm at 70 millimeters at f2.8 because of the compression So if you're on a budget I think the 24-105mm will definitely get your money's worth and with the leftover money You can literally buy yourself an EOS RP and another lens

It's sharp It's autofocus works Well, the stabilization is great, but pretty much the only downsides are the price size and weight the size and weight I think you can learn to live with it but the price only you can answer if it's worth it for your needs because Everyone's needs and budgets are different with most RF mount lenses right now I think the autofocus capabilities are more bottlenecked by the cameras than the lenses themselves So with every firmware updates and as Canon comes out with more RF mount cameras I think things will only get better. While shooting on the streets autofocus and tracking can be more unpredictable than shooting in a controlled environment But the camera and the lens always performed as expected and never gave me any issues some of you also asked me if you should get the 24-70mm or the 15-35mm and I think they're just two different lenses and it's really up to the way you shoot and what you shoot

 There is nothing wrong with this glass. I didn't expect to have anything wrong with this RF glass because I think Canon is still producing some if not the best mirrorless glass in the world. So there you have it. That's the review of the 24-70 2

 This lens is, it's not a small lens, it's over 120mm long, and it weighs in at 900 grams. And so that actually makes it the heaviest of the current crop of mirrorless 24-70mm F2.8 and makes it about 95 grams heavier than what, say, the EF L Mark II that we saw was. It's also 95 grams heavier than the current Nikkor lens for their Z mount, and it is about 14 grams heavier than what the previous heaviest of this group was, and that is the Sony 24-70mm GM lens

 so unfortunately no gold ring here. The only switch you will find on the body itself is a manual to order switch and if you grab the manual focus ring here then in order mode then it will override the automatic focus. The lens comes with a distance indicator and also a depth of field indicator although it's only 16 F16 they have marked here. I'm happy to say that the manual focus ring works really well and there's no play

 If we stop down to 5.6 you can see that as you would expect in terms of the light fall off, it is much less. There is still some distortion to be corrected, but I mean it is only a click away in the lightroom and I doubt you will be using this lens for architecture photography. So I think this is very fine and in line with my expectations

 It's the lens mount is metal as we know it. Otherwise, I would say this is not exactly top-notch quality. I mean it's okay quality, but you can. You can clearly tell that this is plastic, right? Nygon has spent their energy on the internal things in this lens I'm pretty sure and not so much the externals

 So I got my 85 millimeter used over at Mpp.com and as you can see here, this was my 50 millimeter that came in this box and the 85 millimeter came in this. So they have significantly upgraded me in terms of size of the box. It set me back 334 euros, but that was only because I insisted I wanted one in excellent condition and had I taken one that was in just good condition, That is the classification system

Nikon AF-S 85mm 1.8G lens review

The aperture is a 7-blade design, with rounded blades, so out-of-focus highlights will be fairly circular when the lens is stopped down. Close focus is limited to 2.6 feet, which you may find limiting if you're used to working with wider angle lenses that focus closer. The longer focal length does provide a maximum magnification ratio of 1:8

Getting this kind of optical performance for $500 is a treat, especially when you consider that similar f/1.4 lenses from Zeiss and Nikon can cost more than twice as much. The close focus distance is a little limiting, but if you're a macro shooter you'll be better served by the Micro-Nikkor 105mm, which adds in-lens stabilization to boot. You may be tempted to spend more on an f/1

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G Review

 It just really depends on how good your camera body is I Had it on my D750 and now on my Z6 and the autofocus is actually still pretty good with this lenses. You know what? it's not super fast, but you know you'd be surprised to find how fast it is once you use it. One of the bad things I didn't like about this lens. It's not really a bad thing, it's just a personal preference but it doesn't have VR so just be aware about that

 Then 85 millimeter 1.8 g lens was announced back in 2011. It does have a 67 millimeter filter thread, the aperture ranges from F 1.8 all the way to F-16 and it does have an AFS motors so when you are focusing it is going to be pretty quiet

8G is stll a bit sharper still. Despite being bigger and wider, the 1.8G has slightly more vignetting wide open than the 1.8D but this quickly reverses in favour of the 1

 While I don't take landscape pictures (24mm) often, I will use this for a large group outing, birthday parties when I may need to get a wide shot of a lot of people in a room and be able to have a little bit of zoom capability and not have to walk up so close to the people's face. This allows me to get some candid shots when needed. It's fairly heavy at 2 lbs and huge when you put on the hood so I almost never use this lens when I'm on the street because it attracts a lot of unwanted attention. I wouldn't want this hanging on my neck or shoulders for a long period of time

8 : I use this most of the time for adult portraits and it has very good low light performance as well. I choose this over the f/1.4 version because the other reviews I've read on the web did not justify the extra $1000 spend for marginal performance improvement and unless I am getting paid to take pictures all the time, I don't see the need to pay the extra cost for the f/1.4

 I do have to crop at times to get rid of the cluttered background but with the D600 camera, I have enough megapixel details to crop my pictures when needed. This is obviously a monster lens so I avoid taking it for street photos even though I've had some nice pictures and experiences on the street but it's so big..

 With my 50mm lens I'd have had to crop it quite a bit and lose out on some resolution. My 24-120 F/4 zoom lens would have worked OK but it's not as nearly as good in low light. This lens will get the nod anytime I want to capture human subjects.  Are they any negatives? The only negative I can identify is that I'd prefer this lens was nano-coated

  Some may say the lack of VR is a negative but I don't agree. I'm glad this lens doesn't have VR as the VR system would add weight and with a wide 1.8 aperture I don't see that it would be particularly useful in this application.  All the positive reviews are correct, this lens is an amazing value and is a wonderful addition to your FX Nikon

Lens well suited for Portraits and low light conditions.

 I like using prime lenses. They lighter, cheaper (1.4 is an exception) and sharper that most pro zoom lenses. Photography is a hobby and I would not want to spend a lot for pro zooms that is why I settled on the next best thing
