 The AVCHD, the image you get off the camera is fantastic, but you can record all day long. You know, the AVCHD codec is going to really give you those small file sizes. The built-in ND filters are fantastic. If you, me, any photographer, any videographer had our choice, you'd have them on every camera that you use

 If you don't, you could run into some issues in grading. But ask yourself this question, what are you going to use it for? For me, I knew I wanted to use it for interviews, the interview setting indoors, the kind of work that I do, and on-camera stuff for myself, and that kind of thing. So interviews, I'm primarily in an indoor setting, for the most part, where I'm going to control the lighting completely and make sure I've got this exposure dialed in exactly where I want it, everything focused where you want it. And I just wanted this camera for that purpose, for that image quality, those skin tones, and the way that Canon Cinema Line spits out the image

 The image quality is fantastic. It's really second to none, and you must expose it correctly. If you don't, you could run into some issues in grading.  But honestly, we've never used that feature because the camera's actually really good at efficiently storing the footage. And one of the biggest things we got spoiled by with the C100 was the introduction of Canon's dual pixel autofocus. This is one of the first cameras to have it, and let's just say it's really hard to pull focus manually after you've been using Canon's dual pixel autofocus for a while. Now I know I probably sound like a Canon fanboy when I talk about the autofocus, but I go to NAB and Cinegear every year, and I'm always interested to visit the other camera company's booths that are sporting their new autofocus or their better autofocus, and I usually try them all or I have them demonstrate them to me, and they're either not very good or they're just subpar

 It comes with two XLR ports, which deliver high quality sound. Now, we were using DSLRs before we got the C100, so we always had to either use the microphone jack or we had to record external audio, which we had to sync later, and both of them didn't give us the best results. And now, after shooting with XLRs built in with the camera, it's really hard to go back to anything else. Now, it may not seem like a big or important feature considering that the camera doesn't shoot 4K, but since audio is so insanely important, it really is a good feature

The camera features a Super 35 sensor with 10-bit 4:2:2 color support and nominal 14 stops of dynamic range, supports timecode, shoots up to 6K at up to 75 fps, and records data up to 300 Mb/s onto CFast 2.0 media.

The E2-S6 can be powered by a separately available battery using the built-in L-series battery mount, or you can power the camera using a separately available power adapter using its 2-pin LEMO port. The camera also features a 12 VDC 2-pin LEMO power output to provide power to separately available accessories.

 As far as batteries go, if I'm on a long day shoot, I definitely go the V-mount route, especially with the Pockets, because those little batteries, they, I don't know, it was like 20, 30 minutes max. So definitely, as far as battery power goes, definitely gonna give it to the Z Cam. So when it comes down to media storage, you could do, on the Blackmagics, you could do SD card, CFast, or external SSD. On the Z Cam, you have the option of CFast or SSDs, and which, by the way, the Z Cam Facebook group is phenomenal

 As far as image quality goes, both cameras are freaking great. I love the image from both of the cameras, like you can't go wrong, whether you choose the Pockets or the Z Cam. So with the Z Cam, I definitely feel like it's a lot easier to rig out and stuff like that. You can check my previous videos on my Pocket 4K rig, or if you wanna check out my Z Cam rig, I'll provide those in the description down below

 What is going on, world? So today we're here to talk about my personal opinion on the Z Cam and in comparison to the Pocket 4K. So I previously owned the Pocket 4K before switching over to Z Cam, which we're shooting on right now. I have the E2S6, which is a Super 35 sensor that shoots up to 6K. So I actually brought the Z Cam with me on a shoot in Cancun, which I ended up catching COVID and I haven't posted in a while

 If you have any freaking questions or any concerns about something that may or may not work with your camera, definitely search it up, do your research before you dive in. So if I had to nitpick about Z Cam, is that there's a lot of stuff that they say that you can or can't use. As far as image quality goes, both cameras are freaking great. I love the image from both of the cameras, like you can't go wrong, whether you choose the Pockets or the Z Cam

 That's what we have with the E2S6 it's a progression a step forward it's a bump in specs we're getting 6K resolution now we're getting a larger sensor so there's less noise we're getting a locking EF mount some little features and some big features that add up to a better product. I want to thank Zcam and everybody over there I call them the Z team for sending me this camera for review I really really appreciate it.  The Speed Booster gives us a shallower depth of field and it reduces the optical difference between the two sensor sizes. I haven't actually talked about the most important aspect of this camera, that would be the 6K resolution, so let's look at the resolution and see what this camera is really giving us. In 6K open gate the highest resolution you'll get is 6244 by 4168 and this is what it looks like if I scale it down to fit in a 4K window. Pixel to pixel this is what the actual resolution looks like

 I think what we're seeing is the progression of technology and affordability as the components become more affordable and more accessible we're getting to see some higher technology some better specs coming down in price. And that's great for us as consumers we get better cameras they can shoot a lot better video for a lot less money than they used to cost. That's what we have with the E2S6 it's a progression a step forward it's a bump in specs we're getting 6K resolution now we're getting a larger sensor so there's less noise we're getting a locking EF mount some little features and some big features that add up to a better product. I want to thank Zcam and everybody over there I call them the Z team for sending me this camera for review I really really appreciate it

 As I move through the other resolutions I'm going to superimpose them on top of this one since this one will contain all of them and you can see how they compare. These higher resolution modes are a simple crop of the full sensor readout. In fact you can see where my framing got moved just a little bit, the trees don't quite line up with the 6K open gate image. 5K sounds like a drop in resolution until you realize that it's the full vertical size of the sensor and just a little bit off the edges

 But the most exciting thing for me is the fact that this camera has the ability to change its mounts. Once you take this lens off, right now I have a Micro Four Third mount on it, but it has four screws on here that you can detach and you can switch it out to a PL, EF, or Micro Four Thirds like I actually have on this camera right now. I personally have a PL and EF mount as well, and that just gives me a lot more range and options when it comes to lenses I could use from cine style lenses with PL mounts, all the two Micro Four Thirds lenses if I need to that cover the Super 35 sensor. Like I said before, they advertise the Z Cam E2S6 as having 14 stops of dynamic range

 Z Cam here takes a lot of cues from the red cinema camera line, as you can kind of see, which basically comprises of the brain, you know, the camera itself, and then all the accessories you need to add on for it to be functional. So your lens, monitor, battery, and whatever other extensions you need to put on it. But the most exciting thing for me is the fact that this camera has the ability to change its mounts.
