This is my first DSLR and I have been using it extensively for the last 9 months. My last camera was a point-and-shoot Canon, which I also liked, but I realized that I tweaked the manual controls as much as I could with a p&s. I debated between the D80 and the D40. I like the fact that the focus motor is built into the camera and we can use older lenses. The fact that it doesn't have live view or video means nothing to us as I've not once used those features on my d90. I bought this body used and at $200 it was a GREAT deal.

That said, its high ISO performance isn't quite as competitive as some mirrorless alternatives. It's still okay in dim lighting, but you're better off shooting at moderate and lower ISOs to avoid introducing too much digital noise. It's also fairly heavy and bulky, making it less suitable for travel or for those who simply prefer a lighter kit when on the go. Still, if you're interested in a DSLR, this is one of the best crop-sensor DSLRs that we've tested

To date and considering upgrades from the D70 to a D300, D810, and now a D850, many of those images from the earliest digital I owned are not only comparable, but stellar shots. Use it til you outgrow it. Spend your money on the absolute best tripod you can get before you ever consider upgrading the camera.

The Lens that came with mine is the 18-135mm lens, so the following information is based upon that. The included lens has an auto focus that VERY quickly snaps to make a very clear image quickly. The 90D with a 300mm lens is perfect for hand held wildlife thanks to the crop factor the 300mm becomes a 480mm which gives me a ton of reach in a kit that cost less than $1800 and isn't a huge 500mm on a full frame where the animals will be gone by the time I get the tripod setup.

8 D lens here, , this lens is the best value of a lens in the world. There is always time to spend your money on a zoom lens, use your feet. Any digital camera you buy today you will replace in 3-5 years, this is a smart start.

Honestly, I feel like full frame is overvalued, especially for non-professionals who don't need the best of the best to make max profit. That being said, they are rather close, in size as well as in price. I'd usually go with MILC over DSLR, but that's a personal thing and your opinion or feelings might differ, but I assume you don't have a preference, otherwise you'd not be asking the question. If you get FF lenses for better quality, then size doesn't matter, they'll be close

I don't have precised budget, but rule cheaper better is always good, maximum budget which i can spend it around D7200 used one. Lens which I have is Nikkor AF-S 70-300 f/4.5-5.6g if-ed vr and prime Nikkor AF 50 1

As with anything, I feel like you just have to list out your requirements, figure out your price point, and then see if Equipment X checks all the boxes. 90D is certainly a quality piece of gear, just have to see if it fits everything.

If you really want the cheapest and don't think you'll be pursuing photography any further, get a used Canon Rebel XT and EF-S 18-55mm kit lens, it sounds like the requirements were written with that era of DSLR in mind as the bare minimum. You should be able to get one for around or less than $100. They probably won't include any storage though, so make sure you get a CF (compact flash) card.

You also move away from micro adjustments issues too. Battery life is ok, not great, offset by small batteries and much easier charging with USB-C.

And, although battery life has been great so far, if you plan on a full weekend of nature or action shooting, you may wish to order a backup for the very specific battery required.
