I crew on bigger race boats. My daughter captained in 2 one-design classes last year. We are constantly in situations that require a rigging knife. When I'm de-rigging, trailering, and re-rigging up to three boats for a four day regatta, I'm cutting line with my old Buck, or a soldering iron with a blade tip

Don’t get me wrong this is a good blade. I primarily use it to cut out the belly bones and skinning fillets. And for this it shines. If you use it to cut through bones or thick skin just make sure you have a steel to touch up the blade

I have to say, I like this knife by table top review standards so far. It is a bit small with a blade under 3 inches but big enough to do its job. The VG-10 blade steel is very good and used by Spyderco quite a bit so I consider it a higher end steel that takes a keen edge and shouldn't disappoint.The black coating also helps keep the blade resistant to the elements and is a nice even finish that is jet black in color

I purchased this as a replacement for a wood handled fillet knife that I lost along with my tackle box. My expectations were low due to the low price of this product. I was pleasantly surprised by the sharpness and durability of the knife. It could stand to have a bit more flex in the blade, hence the 4 star rating instead of the 5, but other than that it has performed well for 2 seasons of fishing both salt and fresh water

The weakness in the product is the metal loop that serves two purposes: It can be used to attach a tether and it is also the lock release mechanism for the marlin spike. This loop is attached with a small sex bolt, and after a couple months of use, that bolt came apart and fell off, going overboard. With the sex bolt lost, there is no tether and, more importantly, there is no way to unlock the spike without using pliers or other tools. Terrible design, and now I need to find a solution to reattach the metal loop

The knife is reasonable condition and seems to be decent quality but I look to buy American. This stated in the description that it was USA made. I was disappointed to see "made in China" on the package upon arrival. In reading details on another Kershaw knife it pointed out its origin, so I was careful to buy an American version

I've seen some pretty cheap crap they've made. This isnt that, much better than their typical 20$ walmart folder (or giant choppy sword saw thing). Again I just hate when companies slap "titanium" in front of everything when its just a coating. At least they arent calling it titanium steel like you'll find from China if you search Ti necklaces and things like that

It rusts almost immediately. It is stainless steel but cheap and won’t hold up. It rusted after the first use. Of course you can scrub the rust off
