These "schrade" knives now are made in china not USA. However they seem to be using the original designs and damn similar material. The main issues where in assembly. the blade has a full tang handle but the handle plates on either side of tang where clearly shaped than riveted on as they do not mat...

Never met a chinese knife i liked. Came fairly sharp. Lost edge after 1 flounder filleted. Was hard to get edge back. Buy a rapala.

I purchased this knife for my hubby for his birthday. He specifically wanted this one because it said it was made in America. I received it in the mail and I almost sent it back immediately because right on the outside of the box it says "Made in China"... I'm very disappointed about the advertising...

very nice handsome knife...feels good in my hand after a week or so of use....nice edge cuts trims well...good balance...easy to keep sharp... accustomed to a more flexible fillet knife (rapala...40 yrs old finally falling apart)) ...but this is fine if I adjust my technique and keep razor sharp

I have the longer version of this knife (steelhead) and thought I would give this one a try, it has a thicker blade which leads to this one being stiffer. Would be good for some applications, but a bit stiff for most of my filleting duties.

Very sharp and seems well made. I use it mostly for trout. I haven't used a filet knife before, but I expected it to be a little more thin/flexible. Overall a good knife, though, and I'm happy with the purchase.
