 I'Ve never heard this woofer bottom mount and it particularly does a good job in the mid range where it really matters so overall for someone who leans a little toward the detail or brightness side of the equation. The 706 s2 is a good product to take home. As for recommendations to pair up with the bowers and wilkins 706 s2 - and i feel like this - would be a useful little tidbit to add in, i would say, if you're going to do a surround, sound based system. And you want to deploy this as a 5

 We have a video on the evo 300 that you can check out and that will inform you about most of the product range and then in the slightly more entry, slightly more affordable category, but still very high quality. Definitely take a look at the marantz pm. 8006. Integrated a very classical class, a b, integrated amp

 Bowers in-house makes their own carbon dome tweeters, as in that's made out of nearly pure carbon, whereas most manufacturers in the business at this level are using, maybe aluminum, maybe if you're lucky something that's got a little bit of titanium in it silk. Some other kind of soft dome material stuff like that, the thing about this carbon is it can extend higher than pretty much all the other ones i just mentioned, and with that just comes a level of detail that you really don't find in many other places, at Least, at this level in the market, so this tweeter is a standout. It can come off as a little bit bright at times, but gosh. The detail is there down here: you'll find the continuum cone, which is a trickle-down feature of the famous 800 series where it was first implemented

 I figured the Hegel would run pretty much any speakers after coming out of that demonstration (and quickly googling the speakers I just heard). The Hegel H190 is the incredible Hulk on steroids, squeezed into a nice tuxedo. 

I ultimately felt like the asking price for a new pair was a bit out of my reach. Luckily enough, a pair of used B&W CM10 S2 were available. At a third of the price of the newer models, I gave it a try. Auditioned them

For me, It came down to the Dali Rubicon 6 or the B&W 702 S2. Price around 4200 EUR for either model. Probably would have went with the Dalis *IF* I had let the sales person persuade me a bit longer.

 Blends in with the speakers, instead of being its own separate sound source. Recommended if you want a small footprint subwoofer for a subtle yet full sound.

Sweet meditation

 I went back and forth between kef, focal, buchardt, b&w 600 series, b&w 700 series. I listened to what I could from friends and best buy for what that is worth.

72 hours of ownership b&amp;w 706 s2 and svs sb2000

After some consulting from my local audio shop I went with a Denon x1600H DAB. Installing this was a breeze compared to my previous receiver. No more tulip to a optic cable converter and other hacks to make it work.

The thing that surprised me the most was the improved sound quality. Even my non audio lover girlfriend heard the difference (very rare).

Moved from my studenthouse to a nice apartment, I can listen to music in peace now

 Yet some people like speakers with a forward sound, and as such they are the most forward of the 700 series I heard.As the rears in a surround sound system based on the say the 706s or 705s these little speakers would excel, but as the main event there are plenty of cheaper speakers which will give you a more structured and musical experience. Try Elac's UB5 or B&W's own 685 S2 instead. Another option for a similar price is the KEF LS50, a favorite of resident CNET Audiophiliac Steve Guttenberg

So that's different, but when I compare to these speakers back-to-back evil 4.2 sound like a point source, you know it doesn't call attention of any drivers from this three drivers, assembly and 706 s do cause a lot of attention to it. 2. I cannot sit in same position as a 7 or 6s. The reason is this: soundstage is so deep and depth is so much greater than 7 or 6 s. If I sit in very same position as a 7 or 6s, it doesn't sound great

The Polk Audio T15 Home Theater is a good pair of passive speakers for audiophiles and those hoping to add to a home theater system. Most modern bookshelf speakers have a built-in power system to provide amplification and volume adjustment to the signal provided by the music playing device.  If you want to use these as part of a larger ensemble of speakers, these are likely great for higher frequency sound. If you have the ability to purchase a better speaker without constraints of space to hold them or funds, I'd say go a bit higher on the quality spectrum and get a bigger speaker box with a bigger bass punch.  UPDATE: after 2 months of use, these things have really improved. I’m pretty satisfied

 I’d suggest them to friends and so I suggest them to buyers here too. Breaking them in will take some time but they evolve into good speakers. Get ‘em.

 I had suspected that the silverface would improve all the music I run through it, and it does on my Baby Advents from the 80s, but not on these. I think these speakers are much more articulate in their reproduction, but to a disadvantage for general listening (at least without a bass booster or a more targeted equalizer).  So. If you're looking at these for stand alones, and you need a small dimension speaker, these are fine

Purchased as a stand-alone bookshelf speaker for a medium to large living area. Knew there would be limitations based upon the size of the room vs. the size of the speaker, but had to work with dimensions for the speakers for the shallow bookshelf area.  They sound fairly good

 They are not exotic and I doubt Stereophile is going to review them any time soon. They aren't going to fill a concert hall with thundering bass because they're small bookshelf speakers. Some audio snob types are not going to even bother to listen to a pair because they don't cost enough. Well, their loss is our gain, my friends, because if I had known about these speakers before buying the damned Dentons (and some other fancy speakers) I could have saved $400

 Now, if you play them side by side with a subwoofer-equipped system, they're not going to be able to compete; however, I cannot stop listening to them and I have a system with a subwoofer.  2. Overall sound is superb. I can hear plenty of details in my favorite music that I thought only expensive speakers could capture

 These are not budget speakers. Originally retailing for $1,000 pr., they can often be had for $500 or less and are stunning, well-regarded speakers. The Polk Audio T15s sounder better

  Well, these little speakers are the real deal. They have five-way speaker binding posts so you can plug in banana jacks or go old school with stripped wire. The grilles are removable, which is usually not seen at this price point. While I'm not usually a fan of black vinyl cabinets, these are executed tastefully and I have no problems with the looks at all

Compete with much more expensive speakers

  For full disclosure, I made the mistake of buying these in 2018. They've been relegated to computer speakers driven by a cheap Douk amp I picked up here at Amazon. They are acceptable for this use, but I wish I had saved my money (These were only $99 then), and put that cash towards a better pair from Polk, Klipsch, or ELAC. Throwing your money at the T-15s will just set you back that much more from being able to afford a truly great pair of bookshelf speakers

I see some reviewers offering glowing reports of these entry-level Polk speakers, especially regarding their so-called "bass" response. Don't fall for it. These absolutely do not cut it on their own for anything but the mose superficial bass. Don't count on them to be anything in your home theater set-up other than surrounds, and don't buy them for a music-only system as your mains if you don't use a separate subwoofer

Lacks Bass Response, but Can Work for an Entry Pair of Bookshelf Speakers

 The Klipsch were just so much better. They made the JBL center seem completely inadequate. I often found us turning up volume to get a decent output from the old center. After a little research, I chose the Polk center since it was fairly close in specs to the Klipsch speakers as far as frequency response

 I used a few movies that I know have good sound mixes: Monster U (the dance party scene), Sound of Music (Do Ra Mi meadow scene), Tron (End of Line Club fight scene), and Hunt for Red October (final sub battle scene).  The sound stage was much more cohesive. When the mix moved something through the front from side to side, it held together. Dialogue did not get shoved down even when there was other action

I set up the center last night and ran the receiver's autocalibration. Good choice for home theater above entry level

 Today i see that they are $149 a piece, which is still an okay value i guess but im happy that i got them for less than half of today's price! I don't think i would've pulled the trigger at 149 a piece though as there are other offerings out there in that higher price range that would probably be a much better value. I notice price fluctuation here and elsewhere nearly on a daily basis so it would do a person well to monitor pricing daily and grab them when they go back down in price, at 74 bucks a piece i don't know if u could do much better in terms of quality and overall satisfaction! Watch that price daily and grab these when they go back to 74 bucks a piece, i doubt that you'd be disappointed! Seriously, how much quality do u expect from a sub $150/pair of speakers?? These did exceed my expectations for the price for sure! I've owned Marantz, KLH, MTX, Bose, Carvin and a few other speakers over the years so i DO in fact have a pretty good reference point and these Polks can compare to most of them for MUCH shorter dollars. If you're on a budget or otherwise just can't bring yourself to spend large dollars on speakers but still want decent sound then i have no problem whatsoever recommending these Polks! Just do it already, or don't, whatever lol.

I notice price fluctuation here and elsewhere nearly on a daily basis so it would do a person well to monitor pricing daily and grab them when they go back down in price, at 74 bucks a piece i don't know if u could do much better in terms of quality and overall satisfaction! Watch that price daily and grab these when they go back to 74 bucks a piece, i doubt that you'd be disappointed! Seriously, how much quality do u expect from a sub $150/pair of speakers?? These did exceed my expectations for the price for sure! I've owned Marantz, KLH, MTX, Bose, Carvin and a few other speakers over the years so i DO in fact have a pretty good reference point and these Polks can compare to most of them for MUCH shorter dollars

 Great highs and mids, not the most in your face bass though which I actually like. Bass is important to me but it shouldn't dominate the perceived audio spectrum, just my preference. If u require more thunder in your low end then you'll probably want to add a sub. So far, not required in my case

Fit and finish is great and the sound is full and lively. They will handle my receiver/amp's power output with the manufacturer's recommended power input of 20-100W/channel.
