This is Burton's workhorse binding anyone can get into this body according to Burton to be completely honest I agree You can put just about anybody in the cartel and they're gonna have a good time if you've got no clue what bindings to pick Cartels a decent option for the cartel had always been basically my go-to We're finding when I needed to go grab something for a demo and put it on Whatever board that I'd never written before didn't know what I was getting into. I would grab cartels now with this stiffer strap I've actually kind of gravitated a little bit more towards the Mala Vita It just adds that level of stiffness to this binding that Burton really always talked about it had but didn't so It actually is more accurate to what Burton has always been calling the cartel and it definitely puts it into that more stiffer All-mountain charger kind of feel to it and for me, it's just a little bit more than I usually prefer Overall, it's a really solid binding if you're looking for something you're a bigger dude You just like stiffer bindings wherever check out the cartel

The 2019 Burton Cartel Re:Flex Snowboard Binding Review

I've broken some straps, but the ladders and buckles still operate like day one: butter. The bindings themselves are getting a bit shaggy but still ride very well. I'm convinced that the Cartel is the most dialed in binding in the industry. Really smooth mid-stiff flex, plenty of mobility from the relatively flexible highback, fairly responsive heel-to-toe, great feedback from the re:flex base plates, and probably the best buckles in the industry

Super excited to be replacing my 2015 missions with a new pair of 2020 union stratas.

I got fed up with my burtons because the buckles kept breaking or just losing their capability to ratchet down good. The replacement buckles they sent me (2nd set now in 2 years) just feel so much cheesier than the originals they came with. Idk if all burton quality has gone down hill or if it's just what you get when its "free buckle replacements" but hopefully making the switch to union was a good idea.

 One of the adjustments that a lot of people don't bother to do is changing the rotation of the high backs. If you ride with bigger angles, it can be worth rotating the high backs so they line up with the heel edge of the board and you get the most response possible. To change them, loosen these two screws a little bit until the plastic section can move around, then you can wiggle the high back around until it's aligned with the heel edge of the board, then re-tighten the screws. Cartels are a decent step up from the Solomon District bindings that I now have on my park board

 The ankle strap wraps nicely around my Solomon boots, locks down well and doesn't make any pressure points. The flexible connection means that it folds out of the way easily, so you don't have to fight to get your boot in the binding. Same with the toe cap, it has a grippy rubber feel on the inside and covers the toes of the boot nicely. Neither of them have ever slipped on me, and seeing how they fit I doubt that they really could

 The stiffer flex is very noticeable, but in a good way. I don't ride with any forward lean, but it still has a very direct feel so that the slightest movement of my feet seems to go straight to the board. Combined with a medium stiff flexing board, it makes riding fast, landing in chopped up snow much easier on your legs. I would be able to recommend the cartels as a binding for someone who wants one good pair of bindings that will handle anything they want to ride

 They are stiff enough to get lots out of the board, give plenty of support, but mostly I like they way the straps fit, and I have never needed to replace or repair anything after the first setup.

Seem like nice bindings but do not fit on my Ride DH snowboard because i have the 4x4 pattern instead of 4×2. You would think for 250 dollar bindings you could get a replacement mini disc or they would be universal but that is not the case. Waste of time and money very stupid design by Union.

So the high back is also a CP3 high back, just really light, really responsive, and really comfortable. We also have the forward lean adjustment here on the back, so midway through the run if you want to adjust it, put on some forward lean or take it off, really easy, quick adjustments for you. Overall, just a really great binding

 Forward lean, super easy. I like that. I like it way better than the Falcor, but it's the same as the Atlas and the Force. Now overall as a binding, this Contact Pro is really recommendable for a mountain freestyle board or a park board, but it could even work if you want a buttery, mid-level turning, smooth response kind of board for riding in powder days or just pairing it up with easier turning boards that are freeride boards, that are all mountain boards

 Now when it comes to turn initiation response, as far as it goes in unions line, this is not the most responsive binding. It's just kind of like middle ground. I would say though you're definitely going up a big notch with the Atlas because of that rubbery bottom. It is just more damp at higher speeds, but it doesn't have that slow speed kind of like playing around in the park, kind of freestyle shock absorption like the Contact Pros do

 So very good, very easy flex underfoot. Kind of right there with Burton Reflex and some of the best in the industry when it comes to allowing a board to flex underfoot easy. Now when it comes to turn initiation response, as far as it goes in unions line, this is not the most responsive binding. It's just kind of like middle ground

 They've just done a really good job at making a park-oriented, soft, flexing binding still be responsive, and you could still take this... Anyone competent enough would just not miss a beat all over the mountain with this

Union Contact Pro 2021 Snowboard Binding Review

 A really great thing about the Union Contact Pro is that it comes with Union's mini disc. The mini disc is slightly smaller than your standard disc that you're going to bolt on your snowboard and when you bolt the disc on to your snowboard it creates a dead zone in the snowboard. It doesn't allow it to flex. So with the mini disc what that does is allow your snowboard to have a little bit more of a natural flex to it and you can feel a difference and I really loved it for trying to do tail and nose presses and stuff like that

 This is the Union Contact Pro. I picked this binding up 100% to strap on to my Capitol horoscope because this is known for being a good freestyle and really buttery jibby binding. A really great thing about the Union Contact Pro is that it comes with Union's mini disc.  On these, they're really easy to just, you know, kind of fold out of the way. They stay out of the way and it's a lot easier to get in and out of than the Malavita. So for those short park runs when you're on the toe rope and say, I try to, you know, avoid un-clipping, but if you have to unstrap on a crowded day, it's nice to have something that's easy to get in and out of. They're really comfortable, lightweight, and they offer a lot of flex and tweakability when you're trying to really, you know, jib into those tricks
