 And also it's a little bit smaller than the Boss is, which is a plus. And then also the Line 6 DL4, I think is what it's called, I have heard a lot of guys saying that the DL4 breaks, that they put a really cheap tap function in it and it just does not work over a long, long period of time. So if you're going to spend 250 bucks, 200 bucks, whatever they cost these days, I would highly recommend going either with this route for an expensive delay or with the TC Electronics.  So on this one, I'm switching from manual to a specific preset and back. So this is like whatever the knobs are set at, switching to preset two, switching back to the knobs. You can also change it so that it switches through them in sequence, like one, two, three, four, manual, one, two, three, four. I have it like this so that I can switch to and from one specific mode

 I wouldn't play a really rhythmic song with it turned up this high. And then the other setting on here that I use the most often is the one right above this analog. And it's a little similar to the tape setting, but for this one in particular I like setting the feedback shorter, because these repeats delay in kind of a nice muddy fashion, which stays out of your way when you are playing something a little more rhythmic. So if you set it to short repeats, or just as a couple, then that's really good for more rhythmic groovy things

 I was getting into it. Let's pull it apart a little bit just so we can hear the individual guitar part. So first here's the rhythm track where I use the analog mode of the Obscura. Alright and then for the lead part I switch to the tape mode

 And in Reverse mode you're going to hear a lot more tape saturation, since apparently that's based on the Tape mode, I guess. Now if we go purely on face value, that's it.  I want to show a little bit about what this degrade knob does, and I find that it works really well and it has the largest effect on the tape setting of the mode selector. So I'm going to crank the level up a little bit more. I've got the degrade all the way down right now, but I'm going to try to get it oscillating a little bit and then start degrading the tone, and we're going to see what that does. So using the degrade knob in this way is super cool and it takes this pedal out of the realm of just being a delay into a unique effect of its own

 Tap your tempo that you'd like and then super useful subdivisions preset with the time knob here. So, and the LED is green. That is going to be an eighth note. Bring it up to the middle, starts to turn amber colored and that is going to be a dotted eighth and then bring it all the way to the right and there's going to be a quarter note

 Okay I'm going to move on to the lo-fi setting here and I want to show a little bit about what this toggle can be useful for up here. So this is super useful. Have your tails continue, kick the pedal off, and you can still riff over the soundscapes you've created. Or if you don't want any of that, just turn this off

 Here's my clean tone. Okay, so with your time control you can dial in anything from real quick slap back to up to two seconds of delay.
