 It should be dried after a soft scrubbing and rinsing with bare hands and not left to dry on its own in the dish rack. I switched from my older Primula espresso maker to the Bialetti, because this Bialetti is made of stainless steel and the Primula is made of aluminum. There are indications that aluminum containers used for consumable liquids are problematic especially for brain health. I recommend this Bialetti stainless steel espresso maker

Get Stainless Steel To Avoid Alzheimer's

I know Bialetti is "the company" for good espresso percolators but they need to get a handle on their product quality. This is the second one I've purchased (different model) that has had an issue with something falling off after reasonable use. The venus one had the lid come off and this one had the handle come apart from the lid. I can still use the unit but it's nice to be able to open the lid without getting burned

This is a very good quality item but it is smaller than it sounds! Probably not even enough for one person.  I would recommend getting at least the medium size one, or definitely get the large one if you ever have more than 2 people to serve.

 In fact, it's arguably less convenient to preheat this way than some other more efficient methods which also come with the side benefit of doing so unattended. Our favorite method is to use steam from the kettle we're boiling our water in. This small hack essentially requires you to look around your home or online for something that can suspend your cylinder above the boiling water. Canning funnels both metal and silicone, or even a small sifter or colander will suffice, set your kettle to boil and get onto other things while your brew cylinder gets up to temperature

 These are only suggestions and you should experiment to find what works best for you and your palette. Well, let's grind this out and get to brewing. Move this out of the way [Applause] Use your included funnel to transfer the grounds into the portafilter. [Music] then settle the coffee into place before removing the funnel

 Just squeeze it out back behind there and then pull these out. You'll have to pull that one out first and then you can push out your plunger once you have your plunger out. Same thing just going to reach back behind and pull them out like this and you're just going to wipe back there with a paper towel. You generally don't need to use any kind of detergents and we in fact don't recommend it because if you leave behind any kind of a residue, it can be an off-putting taste for your espresso

 The darker your coffee, the more likely you'll find yourself enjoying tighter ratios say one to two or even less. Conversely, the lighter your coffee, the better the chances you'll enjoy it at ratios of approaching one to three. These are only suggestions and you should experiment to find what works best for you and your palette. Well, let's grind this out and get to brewing

The portafilter can take up to 17-18 grams of ground coffee, sufficient for a good double espresso. The brewing cylinder can take so much water to extract maximum 50 grams approximately. So if you are willing to make the extra effort for your coffee, i totally recommend this machine
