Additionally, a room tile and character card have some small tears on them. The characters are all made of cheap plastic. One of them was not set properly and leans so much it barely stands up. I have some friends that own an older version of the game and it is of much higher quality than the game I received

Robinson Crusoe - The first time we played it completely correct after about 10 plays and barely squeaked out a victory in the castaways scenario. We were excelling until the 6 round when the weather took its toll on us but if good items in hand and a lucky treasure card draw we survived!

Heavier game : **Pax Pamir 2e**. I love the game and the decisions it offers. Viticulture + Tuscany and Brass Birmingham get cut (BB getting cut isn’t super fair since it suffers from not many plays which makes it hard to decide if I’d keep it or not).

Once either the betrayer's or the rest of the players' victory conditions is met, the game ends and an epilogue wraps things up quite nicely. This game really captures the B-movie horror/thriller/sci-fi vibe amazingly well! I love thematic games that immerse you in the game and allow you to create your own stories and Betrayal At House On The Hill definitely gives you those tools. The art and all of the components are great and add to the feel of the game. While the combat rules can be a little clunky at times and a few of the clips used to keep track of the various stats were a little loose and wouldn't stick, there is so much about this game to love, that I have to recommend it wholeheartedly! If you like co-op games, exploration, hidden traitor mechanics, or have ever wanted to play out an episode of Scooby Doo or a B-movie, do yourself a favor and check out Betrayal At House On The Hill!

My description is pretty dry, but the game itself was very thematic. Lots of Putin jokes, references to Russian famine for us poor players, making fun of my poor "Kabul" pronunciation but also giving me a pass 'cause it hasn't been in American news in 20 years. Also, a unique choice for American independence day.

Also, this game can be intense, so I would not recommend for younger kids below 10 years of age (the box recommends 12 and up). There are occasionally situations where the cards or the rules/game-play conflict with each other, but the second edition explains to go based off the cards/gameplay when that happens. Also, in situations like this, the players can simply agree how to handle a situation so that everyone still has fun. An example of this: we had a player "stuck" in the Junk Room because it was impossible to roll high enough to pass the sanity check required to exit

Age of Civilization has an interesting civilization drafting mechanic that varies with every setup, along with a half-dozen solo variants, tons of replay value & depth. Getting the right combo together can carry a player quite far.
