This is my preferred fishing line. I use it in weight ratings from 4lb to 20lb exclusively on spinning reels. It is strong, reliable, and casts extremely well.

It rarely frays, even when dragged across beach sand over-and-over, or dragged across snags and logs. It's a two-year, maybe three-year, line.

Using either a Modified Albright or an Alberto's knot to join it to a backing or a leader, and a carefully tied Palomar to tie to a swivel, it has never failed me at the knot. I have never had it break-off (Disclaimer: I haven't hooked a twenty pound fish on 4lb FireLine, but I have landed a 9lb fish on 4lb line).

It costs, but if I get two years out of it, the purchase price balances out. And if it last three years (and I think it will) I come out ahead.

I was so happy to find this on Amazon since it's much cheaper to buy it here than from a beading store or beading website!

You just need to be really careful not to knot your projects; quite a few beading instructors have been warning that knots will break with this, and I've seen it happen when they demonstrate it.

Not just for fishing -- this is great for beaders, too!

 It might be good for some uses as bead thread, but a 300 yard spool is pretty big and pricey. I will be more careful about getting the right weight next time.

Go find something else to bead with. This stuff was made for fishermen by fishermen. It is no wonder this stuff is so difficult to find in any store.

 They only make this big cat in the green and personally, I think the green looks pretty good on a reel. You can run larger spinning outfits with the 15, sometimes the 20 pound, but if you're using larger bait running reels, larger round conventional style bait casters, you can use up to the 40 pound if that's what you wish for, but you're of course going to be chasing larger fish with it. Fantastic line. You can pick it up in a lot of places

 This is very, very bright in low light conditions, middle of the night, headlamps on, black lights on. You'll be able to see this line twitch no problem whatsoever when those catfish are making very, very subtle bites in feeding actions on your bait you have sitting out there. Very bright, you can see this line very, very well. As far as properties of this line, the knots hold up very, very well

 This is all reliable for me. I use it because it helps me catch fish and it works. It's always been there for me. It hasn't let me down and there's so many different catfish specific lines on the market right now, but for the price, you can't beat this and for the performance, I don't think you could beat it either

I have been fishing this line for Catfish for years because it is the bees knees! The knots hold up extremely well so you can handle large fish with confidence. When fishing around rocks and timber, the abrasion resistant properties are what really sold me on using this as my go-to catfish line. Being solar colored, it is extremely visible when fishing in low light conditions. Give this line a try, and you will enjoy it like I have!
