Beretta 92FS vs Taurus G2C

My first purchase was the Beretta 92fs as a birthday gift to myself. I’ve put about 400 rounds through it since then and it’s as reliable as can be.

I've not had any failures to fire with the round metal magazine and the gun is pretty accurate right out of the box. It has the same annoying habit that my Umarex P-80 has, of the round clip jumping out when you open the chamber to reload another magazine, and rolling into the most inaccessible place you can imagine. She hits hard and is very accurate at 30 to 45 feet, dropping off as the cylinder pressure runs down. I like it, and recommend it highly as a plinker, a small game hunter with the right pellets, and a near perfect replica of a 92FS

But I’ll tell you one thing, it’s surprisingly reliable and accurate enough to hit center mass in a decent group. I’ve had the XD 40, XDS 45, Taurus g2c and a few others and this one has held up just as well or better.

What came as a surprise is how much heavier it is than the real thing, I expected it to be lighter. The double action is quite heavy, and I wish it had the blowback feature to recock the gun after a shot. That said, it is very accurate and fun to shoot. I pull back the hammer before every shot so it takes much less strength to pull the trigger

I had a little taurus g2c in 9mm, and now own a full size colt 1911 in .45. The larger .45 is far more pleasant to shoot, not only because it is 3x the price, but the weight of the gun makes it more of a gentle push with recoil vs the snappy jerk of the lighter 9mm
