 I think the Mini-Grip really hits on both of those things. While it leans slightly more towards the "hard use" end of the pool, the Mini-Grip comes close to being a perfectly balanced EDC knife. If you're going to exceed the $50.00 range with one knife, I would recommend that it be this knife

 Super impressed. I guess what I'm saying is that even though fit and finish aren't perfect, you may be perfectly assured they'll make it right if you aren't happy. These people are serious about keeping customers, and I don't doubt this is part of that hefty initial price-tag.  Ease of Maintenance:  Another POTENTIAL problem area

 Put more plainly, it will hold a "utility edge" (can't shave with it but still quite useful) for a really, really long time. Easily a competitor to s30v.  Deployment Method: One-handed ambidextrous. Very old school, field-tested-and-approved thumb studs, both average in size and shape

 I won't wear this knife with suits or khaki pants because it will readily tear them up. Even my cargo shorts and jeans wear noticeably after clipping this knife quite a bit. Fantastic EDC but pocket shredder

 My pinkie is hanging off the back of the thing and so it doesn't really feel like its firmly in my hand. Came very sharp. As Far as the Axis lock goes I have a few knives by a Chinese maker that does it better in my opinion .(yes I know they stole it) Could just be that they fit my hand better

Wanted to love it

  The AXIS lock is very nice, and always feels secure with no movement of the blade. I've had frame and liner locked blades feel like they could move, especially if you opened the blade gently and did not get a firm *click* into place, and this is a very good solution with no drawbacks. I had never used one before this purchase, but it is the most quality locking mechanism I've ever felt and my favorite feature of the knife now.  The overall size is exactly what I wanted

 The grip also feels solid and quality, although some pictures seem "plasticy" in appearance. In my focused attempts at twisting or deforming it did not flex or yield in any way. It looks and feels like a quality piece of functional hardware. No frills or decorations, but strong and useful construction

 I work in an industrial plant and wanted a quality knife that I wouldn't be afraid to use when I need it. I have used it for shaving debris off of rollers, cutting various sized air hoses, plastic tie wraps, small cables, gasket materials, etc..

Great EDC choice

 Sometimes it's smooth sometimes its a bit rough. The blade shape is great, the thumb studs are okay although I prefer holes over studs, as far as studs go they are very functional. My main problem with the knife is the distance between the thumb ramp area on the spine and the finger choil. When I hold the knife I keep wanting to put my index finger on the base of the blade because the finger choil area on the handle is too low on the knife relative to the thumb ramp

It's alright. The materials and quality construction/fit and finish prompt me to give it four stars. If construction wasn't so great and all I had was the design to base my review on I would give it three stars.  The knife came fairly sharp, it shaves hair but can't whittle hair in the air

Solid knife

 My mini grip didn't come super hair shaving sharp out of the box like all my Spyderco knives but it was still better than my kershaw / cold steel knives brand new.  Honestly my only main gripe is how the knife feels in hand. It's not bad, but not comfortable for me. Keep in my mind this is just my opinion

 Their warranty is by far the best I've dealt with in a long time, no questions asked regarding my issue. They're also taking care of me and are sending out a free deep carry pocket clip on top of it (something anyone with a benchmade can request, there's a few other sweet models to choose from). With my main problem taken cared of and putting the knife through it's paces over the weekend I can safely say I love the thing already. The axis lock is nice when needing one handed operation

 I should note that the 2 Sanremu's are the same size as the Benchmade. Being a bigger guy, I need something with a little more heft.  I'm actually very disappointed right now. I really wanted to like the Benchmade, but when it seems like it's of lesser quality (build/tolerance, not blade steel quality) than the other 2, I can't do anything with it, other than return it and buy something else

 I've collected knives for nearly 40 years, and honestly can't believe the lack of quality in this knife. After seeing many posts in blade forums and Facebook groups, it seems that sadly, I'm not alone. Many others I've spoken with have gotten sub-par quality Griptillians. I can understand getting lesser quality when you buy the lower end knives from any manufacturer, but this is just unacceptable

Not much I can add to what others have said. Great size, durable and SHARP. The 154CM steel holds an edge for a good long time. Haven't had to try to resharpen yet so I can't say how that will go

  The axis lock isn't the strongest out there but I like how you can flick it open like a normal folder or just pull on the release and swing it open.  The one negative that I have with it is the price. Benchmade still uses 154cm on this model which is a decent steel but I feel as if they should offer a higher grade steel in 2016.

We actually have a good one This is coming from Bob Margolis who I actually met a few weeks ago his two different Amtac Northman blades here He has the live blade and then of course a trainer This one's pretty interesting because they are self-defense style blades and I actually trained with these exact blades right here with Bill Rapier I don't have a whole lot of knife training under my belt However, these are blades that I have used specifically in self-defense scenarios training Of course, and you're going to end up training differently with whatever blades you have Also on the lines of self-defense We have this right here the CRKT provoke and this is a killer shot from my friend Peter McKinnon now Believe it or not karambit style blades like that like the provoke which I happen to have right here The original design for these was not actually self-defense They were actually designed as an agricultural tool to sort of like scrape at roots and cut things like low in the dirt They have obviously since been adapted to be a very good self-defense blade This is one that I've never trained with however, it's still along the lines of self-defense and that definitely relates to the blade We're taking a look at today. So this one has been in my collection for quite a while now I would say probably like six or seven years and of course, we are taking a look at the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 The Yojimbo 2 was designed by personal defense trainer Michael Janich I actually had the pleasure of meeting him not too long ago in person

 Although we didn't get to talk a whole lot It was really cool meeting someone whose knife design I love so much He designed this thing with some refined ergonomics to really complement the contour of the human hand now Like I mentioned the overall design of a self-defense knife like this is really going to dictate how it's going to be put into an Application some blades will have a little bit more crossover than others like the Yojimbo 2 compared to the Northman that we took a look At in the beginning, but others like the Yojimbo versus the CRKT provoke You're looking at a completely different knife there drastically different design means There's probably going to be a pretty drastic difference in how you use it As far as the specs go the Yojimbo 2 has g10 handles Which are very grippy and the wharncliffe style blade is made out of a CPM s 30 V The blade length is coming in at just over three inches a handle length of four and a half inches giving an overall length of Seven and a half inches the pocket clip is very standard for a Spyderco knife giving you either tip up or tip down Both left and right handed configurations Of course It does have a relatively large size spidey hole there to flick this thing open and then you can see it lock into place on The rear here with that compression lock Alright guys, here we go. Close-up.   Handle also seems slightly small for my hand in the primary grip...middle of fingers often on points and handle horns can jab base of thumb, on top of hindering Spydie-Drops (partially concealed hole doesn't help here either)
