My partner can sleep on anything. I am disabled; with this comes neck and spine pain and motion sickness. Currently have a futon mattress so almost anything will be better. Still, because I spend more time in bed than average, I want a hybrid with good quality coils

 I much prefer foams with some bounce or "responsiveness". Looking for firm with pressure relief.

As the other commenters have pointed out, Tempurpedic's materials are proprietary so you won't find that exact feel anywhere else. The comments say enough about that, so I will instead just answer your question with recommendations!

 Below the initial plush feeling layer is the more firm layers that you sink into after you get through that initial plush for the full body conforming and supporting feeling(Side note, this "initial plush" is for about the first \~1 inch). The iComfort lines are the lines that I *always* point people to that like Tempurpedic but not Tempurpedic prices. I personally sleep on the CF3000 Hybrid and I love it.

<p>Edit: I was getting close to the feel with the Beautyrest beyond with plush pillow top. I was considering trying to get somewhere close to that with a cheaper spring mattress and a separate plush pillow top.</p>

Budget alternative to Tempurpedic medium hybrid

 When my boyfriend slept over, it would create a bigger indentation for him. I’d feel like I was sleeping on a slope all night as a result. My back began to crack a lot when I slept on the mattress, which was new. One of the few positive things about it is I did find it very comfortable to lay on

Beautyrest Hybrid Plush - My Dad bought this for my little brother.

 It is the best mattress I’ve ever had. Firm yet comfortable and I never wake up with back pain. Didn’t care about price and it was the best one we demo. Like it much more than all the Tempurpedics as well

I first tried a full latex. My back pain seemed to improve on this, but I found the bed way too squishy, not very supportive, and uncomfortable to sleep in so I returned it. Then I tried a latex hybrid, thinking it may provide a more traditional mattress feel but with the pressure relief of latex. That turned out to be even more uncomfortable and didn't provide any pain relief, just felt like a really soft and unsupportive spring mattress. Then I thought I'd try a highly rated plush mattress with a gel foam top that was recommended for back pain. This one was by far the worst and has made my back pain even worse than before and I'm going to have to return this one too. I need a mattress that is supportive for my weight (210) but also reduces pressure points and has a plush feel without sagging. Any recommendations?

I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

<p>Edit: I’m a 5’8” 160 lb male, and I’ll be sleeping in this mattress with my wonderful and tiny 5’0 girlfriend. We tend to sleep on our sides and stomachs.</p>

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?
