Purple mattress, don’t do it.

 This bed provides a great balance of comfort and support which is exactly what you need if you're dealing with back pain. Second question, do I need a box spring for the Bear Hybrid mattress? And the answer is no. This bed works perfectly fine placed directly on top of your bed frame. Last question, how long will the Bear Hybrid mattress last? Well because this is Bear's most luxurious model it should last you a very long time

 Bear sells three different types of mattresses and they're all designed to help you get the rest and relaxation that you need. Today we're looking specifically at the Bear Hybrid, their most luxurious model. Now unlike the Bear Pro and the original Bear, this bed contains both coils and memory foam. You want to see how it all comes together? Let's take a look at its construction

 So what does this all mean? Well first let's talk about its cooling features because this bed has a lot. In the cover you'll find sealant fabric which helps wick away moisture and keep you cool.  We're going to start by talking about those newer policies that they now offer. Then we're going to delve into the beds, newer updated construction. We're going to talk about feel, firmness, of course, how much this thing costs now. And at the end, I'll try to sum things up with a final verdict

 Now, once the Behr Hybrid is in your possession, you also get a trial period of 120 nights. And this is basically your chance to see if the bed is right for you or not. And if it isn't for whatever reason within that timeframe, you also get completely free returns with the bed. Bear Hybrid UPDATED Review 2022 | Reasons to Buy/NOT Buy

 Purple 3 was comfortable but I didn't want to spend $2300 so I looked online for which was equivalent. I do weight a bit more than you so we may have a different opinion on softness.

So me and my Fiancé are both about 5’5” 130-140 lbs. We’ve had the original Casper (King) for a month now and I’m getting horrible sleep and waking up with back pains. To me it feels too firm. I also like being higher up from the floor for some reason, and the Casper without a box spring is quite low.  

I’m thinking a regular spring mattress with a pillow topper would be better. I’ve always liked soft beds and didn’t know Caspers were so firm. Ideally will spend around $1000. Any recommendations?

 So it's nice and soft on the top with supportive foam and coils underneath. So you're not getting that super bouncy feel, but you're getting it just enough that you can relieve those pressure points, but it's still soft enough that it doesn't feel like you're sleeping on a rock. So just like James said, this is a good medium firmness, probably around a six out of 10, and this is going to be great for any body types and any kinds of sleepers, be that side sleeping, back sleeping, any of it.m

 That is the trend, but this is also a hybrid with those eight-inch pocketed coils, so you're not sinking down a lot anyway. Let me show you guys the corner here. This is their Quantum Edge technology. They have special coils

 From top down, the first thing we have is a hand-quilted, sealant fiber top. So that is that infrared technology that's kind of coming to the surface in some mattresses, and it's said to take your body's heat and then actually transfer that to infrared light. I am not a scientist. I'm not smart enough to know how that works

OUR REAL EXPERIENCE! - Bear Hybrid Mattress Review

 And like I mentioned, this is a hybrid bed, so it does feature pocketed coils for its support base, which means it's going to be supportive for even heavier body types. Coils just provide you with more long-term support and durability, especially if you are heavier. If you're somewhere around 250 pounds or more, we pretty much always recommend going with a hybrid. So you've got those coils for support, and then you have a pretty thick layer of a more responsive transition foam

 And then you have a pretty nice quilted cover that acts as a comfort layer in and of itself. So the overall feel of this mattress is more of a soft, neutral foam. Even though that main comfort layer is a memory foam, it is relatively thin and it's balanced out by the transition foam underneath and that quilted cover. So you're going to get a little bit of a memory foam sensation, but I wouldn't really describe this mattress as a memory foam feel at all

 It's really accommodating when it comes to its firmness and feel. Plus it has that selling and cover that could appeal to some people out there. So I don't really think you can go wrong with the Bear Hybrid and you do have that nice 120 night trial period to really form an opinion on it. And if you don't like it, you can always return it for free

 This makes the whole thing a lot easier. Once the mattress arrives at your drawers when your trial period kicks in, Bear gives you 120 nights, so about four months, to sleep on the mattress at home to decide if you actually like it. If you decide that you don't within that trial period, you can get a full refund and free returns, which is probably the main reason people are comfortable buying a mattress online. But should you decide to keep the bed, it comes with a lifetime warranty

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?
