We like the idea of the Aventon Aventure Step-Through for riders that don't want to limit themselves to paved surfaces. Despite a similar appearance, VanMoof says the S3 and X3 are “an upgrade to the S2 and X2 in every way,” yet they cost $400 to $1,400 less than VanMoof’s previous generations of electrics.  The VanMoof app allows you to tweak the “shift down” and “shift up” moments, but the defaults felt just right for me. I was happy to have that fourth gear, too, something I missed on the Gocycle’s electronic three-speed once I got the GXi moving fast.

 Now on the topic of the battery. I Would say the biggest downfall of the bike is the charging experience. so there's no removable battery. You have to plug the mains directly in here and that can be a little bit annoying

 what I suggest you do is go back and watch our previous video on the E S2 as this time around what we're going to focus on is more watch new and fresh and updated with this vehicle rather than go over the old stuff and just rehashing it. Also worth mentioning is that Vanmoof says that you can get fifty percent of charge in about 80 minutes. otherwise it'll take about four hours to charge this up from zero to empty. Now, if you can't bring your bike indoors or live far away from an outlet, that may be a deal-breaker for you because unfortunately, you can't simply pop the battery pack out and charge it up elsewhere

 I was planning on going about halfway as far as I did and then I realized my battery was still looking good. So I took it all the way downtown to downtown Portland and back and I still have 30% remaining. so it's pretty impressive. I'd Be curious to see how this battery holds up over the months and years to see you know how long this bike could last

 But believe it or not, I Took the S3 from the suburbs of Southwest Portland all the way to downtown Portland in the Pearl district to be exact and I took it there and back, going pretty much as fast as possible and I still had 30 percent battery remaining. That's about 16 miles. Vanmoof says the 504 watt hour battery can get you about 37 miles in full power mode or 93 miles in economy mode and obviously your results will vary if there's various hills and if you use the turbo boost a lot. but I was pretty impressed with the range when I was testing this out
