There’s a little of the upper mids sucked out which most people won’t want anyway. Also, they are super easy to drive, so no need for an amp. Noise isolation is mediocre. Overall, a perfect headphone for your average person who “wants a nice pair of headphones” but doesn’t want a big commitment

HEADPHONE SHOOT-OUT !!!

 The strings were resonating beautifully. Now on to the late 60's and 70's with Simon and Garfunkel, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and many more. There were details that songs like Time, Money, The Boxer, Yellow Submarine, and many more that I haven't heard before so distinctively. Now with a great pair of headphone's I can truly appreciate the sound and subtleties the artists intended for us to hear

 If you are a travelling person that is exposed to lots of noisy situations the qc15 or the and-9's are the better fit for you. I myself transit much of the time. However, the loudness at which I play my music blocks out much of the noise (with the m50s which is around 50%). It all depends on how much noise that surrounds an individual

As the title reads, these headphones have meet or rather amazingly exceeded my rather high expectations from the m50's. The range of music that these can be used for is absolutely stunning. I've listened to everything from Beethoven's symphonies/sonatas, Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon', The Smiths, Kanye West's discography, to even Skrillex. The headphone's excel in almost every category of music

  Obviously the noise cancelling headphones are priced much higher than the m50, and rightly so. But I have found that when noise cancellation in activated there is slight ambient noise created by the headphones themselves, which in all honestly may not be a concern to most people but it is for me. Simply Amazing.

 This prevented me from keeping them. I have attached a breakdown of my thoughts below:  ------------Sound Quality------------  Beyerdynamic DT 770 (80 Ohm) - Winner Highs - Quite good representation, much cleaner than Senhiser Mids - Quite good representation Lows - A little closed sounding but overall they are handled well Overall this is how the music should sound. They perform the most similar to my pair of Martin Logan Motion 15's (bookshelf speakers)  Beyerdynamic Premium 990 (32 Ohm) Highs - Similar to the 770's but rather harsh sounding Mids - Nothing special, no major issues Lows - Not as powerful as the 770's but more spacious. Seemed a bit washed out due to the open back design  Senhiser HD 599 (50 Ohm) - Close 2nd Best Highs - Not quite as poppy as they should be

I recently needed to replace my pair of over the ear headphones so I began my search for a good pair of headphones in the $150-$200 range. Immediately Senhiser, Beyerdynamic, and Audio‑Technica stood out. I first received a pair of the Audio‑Technica ATH M-50x which had good sound but were very uncomfortable if worn for more than an hour or so. Then I picked up a pair of the Beyerdynamic DT 770

 Overall the HD 599's were slightly less comfortable than the 770's but the open back quality was convenient and the sound was quite nice. I would have been satisfied with the HD 599's but they were the only pair of headphones I could not drive with my desktop. They produced terrible static. This did not occur when I used the 599's on other devices or when I used other headphones (even those with similar impedance and SPL) driven by my desktop computer

 They are a bit muted in the sound signature which can make them less fatiguing than other, more analytical, headphones. Mids - A bit to high level for me, it tended to make punk rock music sound very close and muddied Lows - A bit boomy but very spacious  Audio Technica ATH M-50x Highs - Quite good representation, a bit cold though Mids - Nothing special, no major issues though Lows - Too over-emphasized  -----------------Comfort---------------  Beyerdynamic DT 770 - Winner Perfect. I wore these on multiple occasions for more than 7 hours and never noticed any pressure points or discomfort. The headband is larger than average to distribute the pressure

There are better options at this price point

 The treble side of things does pop out a bit more, but it's just bright enough for you to listen to it crystal clear while being mellow enough for your ears to not hurt. At really high volumes there's the S issue though, as I previously mentioned. You can easily fix that with an EQ, and that's the single peak that has given me any issues at all, the rest of the sounds coming out of these are AMAZING.  BUILD AND COMFORT What can I say? I've had them for a year and two months now

 If you have middle sized ears, they will fit just fine within the earpads, no issues, they're comfortable and firm. Your ears will barely if ever touch the drivers, The headband's padding is adequate at best, it could be better. In my experience, they do get tiring for the top of my head after a couple of hours, but nothing a short break can't fix, and I do wear these most of the day.  I've bought more headphones within the time I bought these and now, but I always keep coming back to these sooner or later, and that's gotta say something

 No scratches, no loosened parts, no cracks, NOTHING. These are SOLID. If you were to choose one last pair of headphones and head out to Narnia where you won't be buying any new ones any time soon, these would be the ones. What's more, I recently looked for someone who dismantled them online, or straight up broken them, to have a better look at their insides and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the ENTIRE HEADBAND is made out of METAL

My boyfriend has only 20% of his left ear hearing (wears a hearing aid) and none in his right, and I want to find him some mono headphones since stereo sound only gives him half the components of any music he's listening to.  Also looking for over-ear, or any alternative to avoid hearing aid feedback, and Bluetooth if possible. Any ideas are appreciated!!

 For how much I use these, that is a testament to their durability, not that they wear too easy. They are heavily loved. Will be buying a new pair when these are ready to retire. Sound quality is mostly what matters, and they still rock! 🤘 They aren't tippy-top of the line

 Now as far as accessories that's pretty much it. The main thing you're paying for here is a very high end very well made headphone. You know first thing upon picking up you see that well the ear cups are really large. The zebra wood that's on here is a really nice touch

 I mean as far as like excitement and life in your sound like I'm a huge fan of bass and these deliver on all fronts and and no distortion like I was able to plug it in my amp you know tune it exactly how I wanted to and and these just excelled with anything I threw at it like metal hip-hop classical obviously classical is going to be great on these but the range and the sound stage that these have because the bass and the highs in these are so clear so prominent I mean it's it's not a flat reference style headphone at all. I mean obviously you can EQ it if you want to to make it sound like a flat headphone and it can do that. So these kind of fall in a weird spot for me because I think of audiophiles I think of people that really just want a flat sound signature and to me that's not what these are for. I think these are more for people that just want a really nice headphone and a listening experience something that just looks classy something that to me is not completely overpriced considering there are pairs that cost two to three times as much as these

 It was great to be able to try these and to see the listening experience that other people get that aren't normally looking at consumer style headphones. I have noticed with them in there is always a push in the low end which I'm a fan of and these did the same thing and I didn't expect them to.
