I bought this cartridge to replace an old Ortofon cartridge from the 80s that came with my used turntable. The old Ortofon had a warm, gooey, bassy sound and it was absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, the stylus was just about done, and replacements are no longer available. And I didn't have the money for a nice new cartridge, so budget Audio Technica it had to be.  I'm not a huge fan of the bright Audio Technica sound, but the VM95C is really honestly not bad

Bought this to replace damaged cartridge in turntable. Easy to install, powerful bass, higher notes may be a little weak. Sometimes sounds a little muffled.

 The price tag of the 150 comes in at around $300 so it's certainly a more expensive cart and at $300 I certainly wouldn't classify this as you know a standard cart by any means. This is a much more sophisticated stand-up from its predecessor. Obviously people have found that we really like the nag carts and so that's one of the reasons that we go with these. These are going to be a lot more pricey than some of like your standard cartridges but at this time let me go ahead and we'll do a quick audio comparison

 It's much deeper, the dynamics are far more extended, stronger mid-range which provides more coherent like vibrant sounds for sure, greater separation compared to the predecessor of the 110. You know at some point I will do a comparison between the 110 and the 150 because I mean I can tell you guys for sure that the 110 is definitely still a really great cartridge but yeah the 150 really seems so far anyway to really be living up to its to its name in the example you know. You know is it worth $300? You know I think that I think that if you are more serious about you know vinyl records and listening to your music and getting the best experience that you possibly can I think that there is something to be said for the 150 in comparison to other you know cartridges. I think that especially if you you know have the means of being able to get one of these I think that it can be a significantly better upgrade

 Yeah it's a really great cartridge and I hope that you guys have enjoyed this this quick review and at some point here really soon I'm gonna have some stylus drops done of this new cartridge that's providing hopefully better audio quality and sound to the channel. A Quick Review: Nagaoka MP-150 Phono Cartridge

 \- budget for a good cartridge with a good styles in the $150 to $300 range: AT-VM95ML or better, like the AT-VM540ML or Ortofon 2M Blue or Bronze, Nagaoka MP-150, Goldring 1042  or better. Even if you buy a second hand turntable, usually you will have to buy at least a new stylus and you might as well choose a cartridge to your liking.

I’m looking to upgrade my turntable to one in the price range of $1k-$2k. What are my best options and should I be getting one that requires a pre-amplifier that’s not built in? If so which one?

Perfect match for my Technics SL 1200 Mk2 turntable. Easy to setup too. Sounds so good I can’t stop playing my records.
