The worst offender was a brand-new, 180g Lateralus. Lateralus sounded truly terrible so I took a much closer look at the turntable. I took the record and mat off the platter and turned on the motor. I could very visibly see the platter rising and falling as it spun (wobbling), even without a record or mat loaded

then turn the anti-skate dial to match (1.5) Next I had issues with hooking it up to USB, no sound was coming out of it to my PC.. wasted about 30 minutes troubleshooting windows sound settings and Audacity settings, etc, until ultimately figuring out that there's a tiny easy to overlook switch on the rear of the record player which is set by default to Phono, so slide it over to Line and USB audio will work

I absolutely could not believe my ears when I put this turntable, cartridge and preamp together... Outstanding synergy! - Really
