ASUS RT-AC88U Wireless-AC3100 vs TP-Link EAP235-Wall

On the 30-foot test, the RT-AC88U scored an impressive 302Mbps, indicating very good range performance. The Linksys EA9200 and the Netgear R7800 turned in scores of 255Mbps and 247Mbps, respectively, while the D-Link DIR-890L/R scored 310 Mbps.

5GbE (and it's essentially required to get much higher bandwidth than the EAP620). The router is the ER605/TL-R605 (same model, it got re-branded). On average TP-Link's products are roughly 2/3 the cost of their Ubiquiti equivalents.

Initially thinking Amazon's Server was down, and I started checking and actually found the 2.4G radio in the 88U was not transmitting! Called Asus and they had me Re-Boot and insure I had the latest Firmware (I did) and it started working. Hung up the phone and thanked the CSR. Just a Hiccup? No! Within 5 Minutes the 2

Pay CLOSE attention to this unit, how it works, and what it does before you buy it!! 1) Omada interface / controller - as normal, great concept but total trash to implement. I de-registered the software, wiped the initial setup and started over rather than trying to mess with it (its only good for multipoint administration from a central location IMHO) - IE: I did the stand alone fallback mode through a web interface and fixed the problem (much simpler setup) 2) NOT a true "wireless mesh" unit. Only some (mostly omada) wireless networks will work with this thing. My "netgear" router and this unit would not work together for a wireless AP setup
