The four DIMM slots are in the same region, and capable of supporting up to 128GB of memory via four 32GB modules. The board does, of course, support standard memory speeds up to 3,600MHz, but Asus' OptiMem III technology on the board (which involves, according to the company, more resilient traces) can accept higher frequency and lower latency settings, with the expectations of memory overclock support up to 4,800MHz.

The ROG Maximus XII Extreme has a metal backplate over the back of the board that is also supposed to help with cooling. I can't quantify how effective it is at that, but it definitely makes the board feel sturdy and durable. I Really like the fact that audio jacks are illuminated I've seen that already with other motherboards at Asus basically releases but the thing here with RGB is that you have this screen over here which you can really configure with anything you want. This is going to be really cool if you want to put temperatures on it or some you know already if you have like I mentioned before, if you have the money to get this first of all we're gonna talk about everything

 It's likely at least in the last four months I've seen a new set every month so stick with me if you want to see a review of that. I Really like Transmog. They have amazing products so all I know like I mentioned before, if you have the budget, this is probably the best motherboard you can get. I'm still saving up to get the CPU obviously like I mentioned but only know once you get this thing connected, you're gonna probably want to use it with water cooling is you have the water pump connections over here I didn't go for all of the onboard buttons which you have many of these as me myself I actually not I don't use them that much and I'm not a big expert in building pcs either, but I'm just telling you my experiences with the products that I get

The first expansion card you're gonna see here is the fan expansion card basically letting you install more fans on your obvious on your build obviously and it's gonna have two temperature contours on it, sensors on it. and also you're gonna see here that we have the Funderbolt three expansion card which is basically something that you're gonna be really happy with if you are canta canta like I am and you are basically paying for it by the way when you are buying this motherboard. So please make note that if you're not using this, you're gonna pay extra for this whole setup because basically there needs to be a licensing when you usually put this card or expansion card with a motherboard and you know what? I'm happy because I'm doing these videos

Hey guys, this is now from the Overclocker Magazine. So I'm gonna talk to you briefly about the ROG Maximus 12 Extreme. So this motherboard. The first thing I have to say about it is that this is undoubtedly the most impressive motherboard I've ever seen

 So as luck would have it all the DRAM I have is Samsung did I So I tried on this motherboard and I just couldn't get to 4,600 and then I tried 4500 was also a bit flaky 4400 and eventually I actually had to settle for 4266 which is still pretty impressive. Ok for for damn board. however I had seen that I Ritchie was claiming for the 800 and that sort of thing. Granted I don't have any of the DRAM kids that they said would be able to do for the 800 megahertz on this board

 It has all of that. but I think was a premium motherboard like that. It has to be more than just some of his parts. It has to be presentation, aesthetics

 You know I think this is a ton. The ball card is it Oh Nene DisplayPort on a mini DisplayPort E-types yeah, so dim thought to lots of cabling, It's literally it's like Christmas in here. So in terms of just making you realize Oh or feel that hey, you know I've actually made a good purchasing decision. What's going with this motherboard despite the very high price? Again, ROG has done an incredible job here, just giving you a ton of stuff

 Just got off the phone with another wonderful Indian gentleman who informed me there are no American tech support agents, because I couldn't understand WTF he was saying 9 times out of 10 -- just what you want to hear when you spend OVER SEVEN HUNDRED EFFIN DOLLARS ON A EFFIN MOTHERBOARD.  This is the last ASUS product I ever buy. I can't wait til Corsair starts making high end motherboards and wipes the floor with these losers. Horrible product, horrible experience, NEVER BUY ASUS

Anyway, you can see your the lights there, your LED lights. they're there, your post lights to get the CPU, the D round the VGA and the boot so you get it, will flag those up as it's going through the post process and let you know how their boards doing

Ln2 mode switch see I'm literally reading these down the side as I'm showing you then obviously start flex key

 Up in the top left-hand corner we see our 2 8 pin CPU connectors don't have to use both, but they are there if you want to have a big overclock or you're really only pushing things. And then we see our first fan header just there. Then if we pan across and I'll do it this way with the actual moving the board rollin there we go. then we can see our two CPU fan head is there

 Let me come over here. get this header and basically that header is a Molex connector. You don't have to connect it if you don't want to, it's there just to be able to feed extra power into the PCI Express for in the old days if you were running multiple cards and big overclocks and stuff like that. but it's getting kind of negated now, but it will be an option there for hardcore overclock is and the like

  AVOID THIS OVERPRICED PIECE OF TRASH LIKE THE PLAGUE!  Pros: - Lots of power delivery  Cons: - Quality Control issues (Expansion card ports broken from the factory) - The Intel I225-V LAN port doesn't work. No updates or new firmware can revive it. Many users report this port DOA on their boards. ASUS chose to use a problematic product in their board

 - You won't be able to use the expansion cards (DIMM M.2 and Thunderbolt) because they use PCIe lanes from the CPU, and the motherboard will force a slowdown of your video card (from x16 to x8). This is a performance and gaming motherboard, so such a slowdown will kill half of your FPS, and is nonsensical to include and charge you for those accessories on the motherboard price, when you really won't be able to use them if you want the full performance out of your hardware. ASUS doesn't mention this ANYWHERE in their specs and manuals, but you'll find out in practice soon enough

Overpriced trash, even at MSRP.

 Obviously, it's only for the very highest of high-end Pc builds. However, as the 750 dollars price tag means you could actually build a respectable full gaming Pc for the price of this single motherboard, it's an aspirational Z 490 motherboard and arguably the best gaming motherboard for Comet Lake overclocking. but I'll concede it's not a particularly realistic purchase for most of us.  If you want the best, most fully featured Intel Comet Lake motherboard, then I'm afraid you're going to have to pay for it and pay through the nose. If Asus Z 490 Maximus 12 Extreme is anything to go by, it is, as the name suggests, Extreme packing in a variety of luxurious and incredibly handy extras a freaking screwdriver with interchangeable heads for one, and it's also one of the highest performing Z 490 boards we've tested, But it only really makes sense if you're buying a K Series core I9 and genuinely intend to overclock the nuts off it. The Maximus 12 will allow you to get the highest clock speed out of your 1090k and won't turn it into a pile of molten slag while you're at it. The Msi Z 490 Godlike is actually the fastest Z 490 outright at stock speeds, but I'd rather have the Raj Board in my camp if I'm going down the Oc route

 I've had it now sitting here for a few months So I'm a crap out of luck there if something goes wrong with this so that is very unfortunate, so you are greeted of course with a CPU fan header right here or water pump Whatever you want to be eight phase power connector, which would be pretty standard on anything newer today And then of course your VRM here An aluminum heat sink piped down to the heat sink here for your NVMe Be kind of nice if I open that now and there's an NVMe still in there. This is a neat little thing. They did on these ITX boards because there's no room Even though it does look like you could have possibly put a normal full-size one here They didn't so this would plug in here give you your full-size four pin And now you would have to to support any other fans you want to put on your system now with an ITX build There's a chance that you're gonna have to use a fan hub. You have one for your CPU and two headers for other fans So what this does this piece here actually connects to the heat sink that's surrounding everything Going out to this pipe
