Wow, I am stunned at the quality of this motherboard

 We got all the additional fail-safe features that Liquid cooling demands, such as our leak sensors and flow sensor. Finally, in the unlikely case, anyone would want to cool this thing with liquid nitrogen. we do have all the usual Ln2 switch, allowing direct access to several reset and reboot modes to bypass overclocking settings. Now, troubleshooting wise, we got everything available and imaginable, starting with an easy debugger for first aid debugging, a Qr code screen for refined troubleshooting, and a rather long and high definition Led screen which can show a bunch of useful information including Cpu temperatures

 and the Extreme version one of its most extremist products. Once you spent 900 bucks on a motherboard, the very least it can do is to do whatever you want it to do, unleashing every bit of potential from all your components. And the Crosser 8 Extreme does just that. Now starting with the obvious, we're dealing with an E80x motherboard, meaning three centimeters wider than your everyday motherboard

 Obviously, we've discussed all of the features, but as always, it's kind of down to you whether you want to pay that or not. There are certainly a lot cheaper boards from MSI's own B660 lineup and I'm sure their competitors are going to offer similarly priced competitors as well. I don't have the prices to those boards. My recommendation is that if you have quite slow DDR4 memory, low capacity or whatever, and you just kind of want to jump whole hog into DDR5 land and Alder Lake, then this is an excellent board to go with

 This claims MSI will help provide more stable power delivery. The board, though, will work just fine with a single connector, as we've discussed in our i5-12400 coverage. The 80W, the load we managed to get the CPU to draw when running a tortuous average workload of rendering and other work simultaneously is going to be amply supplied by a single connector. But if your power supply does support the additional connector, it's a nice feature to have, I suppose

 I must say that I have found Older Lake rather fun to review, and quite frankly, for the testing, the LGA 1700 platform has turned out to be pretty impressive. Sticking with my opinions for the board, as that's what I'm predominantly reviewing in this video, I've not had any problems with the Mag B660. It's had no crashes, no strange behaviour and nothing hinky. Which, it doesn't sound like a big deal, but the number of boards that I've been sent or tested around launch window and they've been like, just really weird behaviour is, well, it's been a thing

 That does leave you a question, should you go with the DDR4 version of the board? I was given prices pretty much last minute that this board is going to be retailing UK prices. I don't have USD, unfortunately, but it's of course going to be converted to pretty much what you would expect. The GBP price is £210, that is including that. And yeah, this is of course a higher end premium mid-range board and there are additional layers on the board

The point is, you can do it, and if your use case involves a lot of rapid data shuffling to and from RAM, the gains can be quite substantial.  What else? The design is top-notch for a B series board. A beefy VRM ensures plenty of clean power available on demand for your CPU, and the substantial heat sinks all over the board help to move the heat away from your precious components and allow your case fans to do what they're meant to do

 it's going to be great having it for the rare occasion I need it, instead of not having it, needing to spend $15-$20 on Amazon to order a WiFi USB adapter, wait a couple days, doesn't quite work, return it, order a PCIe card... just skip the hassle and pay an extra $10 up front for the feature, built-in, working perfectly

Excellent features and best-in-class design

 When you purchase this board, make sure you have the board wifi drivers and the I.O serial drivers ready to go as these are not plug in play. Without the I.O serial drives, some wonky things will transpire with sleep modes, even if you turn off sleep mode

 The wifi won't work unless you have the driver ready to go.  I had to use my phone to download the wifi drivers and then plug my phone into my computer to transfer them over. I think its about time for small USB flash drives with the drivers on them to be included in the motherboard box instead of CD's that literally nobody uses nor has CD drives these days.  The 3 out of 5 stars is due to just some really annoying things, even though this is one of the better B660 motherboards

One of the better B660 motherboards but there are issues.

It is a great mobo, but I was unfortunate that this very specific board has a compatibility issue with the powercolor rx 6650 xt...not allowing it to work on the x8 pcie gen 4 and only on the x4 gen 4

 If you are getting a powercolor gpu, don't get this mobo or you'll have the same issue.
