Asus AX5700 vs TP-Link EAP235-Wall

The mobile app gives you the basics for most and allow you to link alexa or google assistant as well as enable game mode or streaming mode. I wish the ambient led light when in game mode could be turned on as the light instead of the indicator for accents but sadly is not. Overall this router gives me the speeds I pay for from my isp and do it reliably and efficiently.

Pay CLOSE attention to this unit, how it works, and what it does before you buy it!! 1) Omada interface / controller - as normal, great concept but total trash to implement. I de-registered the software, wiped the initial setup and started over rather than trying to mess with it (its only good for multipoint administration from a central location IMHO) - IE: I did the stand alone fallback mode through a web interface and fixed the problem (much simpler setup) 2) NOT a true "wireless mesh" unit. Only some (mostly omada) wireless networks will work with this thing. My "netgear" router and this unit would not work together for a wireless AP setup

Its range offers excellent coverage throughout our house. While others have commented negatively about its vertical design, I find this to be not at all obtrusive, happy with the space saving achieved.

2) Range may be an issue. I have about a 320 foot straight shot through a moderately wooded area to hit a wireless camera. Not gonna happen with the stock antennas. Had to purchase "Outdoor 15dBi Dual Band WiFi 2

The ASUS app is also very intuitive and I had it up and running in no time at all. I am also very pleased with the signal strength as I was really hoping not to have to use a WiFi extender in conjunction with the router. Finally, I am also able to us my mobile devices on my back deck where my prior router did not have the necessary power.

The ReoLink cameras support 5G and 2.4G WiFi (not simultaneously), but yet again, the signal continues to disappoint. This is still a pretty cool product, and it has applications (especially related to affordable outdoor mesh), but it certainly didn't accomplish what I was hoping it would.
