 Today it's all about this microphone, who is this microphone for, the price, the sound, when to use this. We're going to discuss this microphone. And then I will show you how this microphone sounds on vocals and acoustic guitar. So I hope that you're ready, let's go

 Is there any cons with this microphone? If you're looking for a warm microphone that adds a lot of harmonics and, you know, that kind of distortion, this is not your choice. I don't want to spend more than $300 on a new condenser and I've done my fair share of research on YouTube, Sweetwater, wherever. I've narrowed my choices down to the following:

\- Blue Bluebird

\- Rode NT1

\- Shure SM27

If anyone has a particular preference or what they think would work best for my application, or even another suggestion that I haven't listed that I should consider, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone!

What $300 vocal mic should i upgrade to?

. so you don't need an extra suspension bracket like other mics. This makes it very efficient and easy to set up in a small space or large and eliminates some hassle. * That makes it easy to mount a pop filter on the mic stand due to the narrow vertical profile created when mounted on top of a mic stand

 * There is very little "noise" in the mic. * The proximity effect is good but you don't have to be 2 inches away to get it. * The design is elegant and modern looking so it "feels" very professional and it's full metal construction is rugged * Mounts easily on a standard mic stand due to the mount hole location.

 This makes it very efficient and easy to set up in a small space or large and eliminates some hassle. * That makes it easy to mount a pop filter on the mic stand due to the narrow vertical profile created when mounted on top of a mic stand. (see picture above) * The cardioid pattern is very effective at cancelling out background noise, as in better than any I have used that were below $250.

 Its clarity doesn't sacrifice the wholeness needed to pick up the more emotional nuances of a deeper vocal movement. There could be a bit more "bass" response but it's adequate and you can sweeten it in post and you'll get stellar results. Happy recording.

Sensational Sound - Amazing Price

 I am a tenor without much bass in my voice and the reproduction was faithful.  I am very impressed.  The Origin microphone itself bespeaks quality design and construction. The body is 2mm stainless steel

 An Aston Microphones decal and a lapel pin! There’s a very slim booklet which describes their two mic models and gives some very basic recording hints. No XLR cable is included, so you obviously must supply your own.  The XLR connector and mic stand mount are in a tandem row on the bottom. That is the one piece of this design I don’t particularly like

In terms of audio recording knowledge and experience, I would classify myself as an advanced amateur, with the proviso that almost all my experience is with spoken word.  Like most people involved with audio, I have an ever growing collection of microphones.  The Aston Microphones Origin, however, shot to the top of my like list within minutes of first using it.  Mounted on a desk stand about a foot away, using a Tascam DR-40, the recording was very, very nice

  The Origin microphone itself bespeaks quality design and construction. The body is 2mm stainless steel. The 1” capsule is protected by an attractive and unique “wave form mesh head”. There are two switches on the body, a -10dB/0dB pad and a 80hz low-cut filter

 You can see exactly where I put the microphone, exactly where I've set it up. The shock mount has to be said is not by Aston, this is actually a Rycote shock mount, it comes as part of the deal. So everything you see from there to there comes in the package. There's some really cool stuff about this thing, I'll show you around it as we go through

 That whole British sound thing is really coming back. Now Aston Microphones are newcomers but they are born off the back of the whole SE microphone range so these guys know their onions when it comes to microphones. Now this thing is very very cool, there's a few points that make it a bit different. Obviously there's a large diaphragm condenser capsule inside there behind this kind of wave guide shield thing which does some really cool stuff which also means I don't need a pop filter

 I thought this thing's pretty much going to be price point wise aimed at the kind of singer songwriter, singer guitarist, vocalist, that sort of thing. So I thought I'd put together a track around that sort of idea. I'll build it up track by track and then we'll play the whole thing at the end. So here we go, the first couple of tracks are going to be acoustic guitars, the first three tracks in fact are acoustic guitars

 Not even a hotkey toggle option.  I use wireless earphones and I switch frequently between them and speakers so having to open Wave Link each time and manually select outputs again and again is tedious and unrealistic. I contacted Elgato's technical support, hoping for assistance so I could use the software as intended. They had no solutions and told me that I can suggest fixing these issues as a feature request(!)

What a mixed bag.  First, the good. The sound quality of the microphone is excellent. There is no "low-fi" loss of high or low frequencies, clarity is excellent whether I am speaking quietly or loudly/near or far, the auto noise rejection/compression is smooth and unobtrusive, and there is almost no extraneous "room boom" reflections picked up that would otherwise be muddying things up (the room it is in has no acoustic treatment)

 Or anything else for that matter and trust me I've played around with it on discord to see if my team could hear various items making noise next to the mic while speaking or silent and not a sound could be heard on the other end other than my voice (good work Nvidia).  All in all, I wish the software that came with the mic actually preformed for the amount of money I spent as it does function well when it is actually functioning but the amount of problems I've had over the years with this and basically every other Elgato\Corsair product I've purchased (Wave 3, Stream deck, Corsair Void RGB Elite wireless {the mic audio was trash for an at the time near $200 purchase} Corsair K100 keyboard {legit the only one I don't have complaints about}) and the fact that I now dread updates from Elgato just makes this product not worth the money I spent on it and would urge you to spend your money elsewhere

Or anything else for that matter and trust me I've played around with it on discord to see if my team could hear various items making noise next to the mic while speaking or silent and not a sound could be heard on the other end other than my voice (good work Nvidia).  The amount of times that it no longer recognized the input of Broadcast after a new update was like they were telling me to use their own software for noise reduction; only theirs was basically nonexistent. All that Wave link had was a "low cut filter" and a "clip guard" neither of which do anything about the ambient sounds in the room such as fans for the hot summers or even the click clack of my mouse and keyboard, of which no one wants to hear on stream. Nvidia broadcast cleaned up everything nicely and neatly without using too much in the ways of resources; however with the amount of times the input ceased to function after updating Wave link it seemed like Elgato was trying to force my hand. They finally release an in app version of Nvidia broadcast and for a second, just a second I was actually had I little bit of that excitement I had before I realized the Wave link software was going to be a nightmare at every turn

Product itself is great but the software that runs it is trash tier

Love the mic currently watching some tutorial videos for lal the plug ins. Best part tho the noise cancelation that it comes with right at the start instantly fixed so many problems i had with my old mic that the noise cancelation from obs just didn't take out and needed a ton of settings to work but with this was just one simple noise cancellation and done.

Definitely not for beginners

 Now I am speaking into the Wave 3, spinning around to 90 degrees so you can hear the off-axis rejection and coloration. We will continue around the microphone to 180 degrees. Here's what it sounds like from the rear. Continuing around the microphone to the second 90 degree angle
