It's not going to cause that. So would I recommend the Elgato Wave 3? Yes, I would.

Though to get the sort of sound you're looking for, the mic kinda has to be close. Desktop / USB microphones are not generally designed to be used from afar, but for stuff like video conferencing it might be enough given that it'd be compressed anyway. Rode NT-USB, Audio-Technica AT2020USB, Elgato Wave 3, or even the Blue Yeti are quite well regarded.

A USB-only mic is done as soon as you want to upgrade. Still, some of the USB-only condensers are pretty nice (for instance, check out the Elgato Wave:3). Whatever you get, just make sure it's easy to get on a boom arm; that's one area in which the Yetis are a bit lacking. Edit: forgot to mention, whatever mic you get, you should also consider acoustic treatment.

I personally have a Razer Seiren V2 X on an Elgato Wave LP Arm and it works great for only picking up my voice in good quality. Edit: typo correction.

Also, I've heard very good things about the Elgato Wave 3. XLR mics have the added cost of getting a good, clean interface that can provide enough gain as well.
