The Arbor Westmark Camber Snowboard is Arbor's freestyle board, and it's ideal for people that want to do tricks on a wooden plank throughout the park. This board is also good for intermediates who want an all-mountain board but want to spend more time in the park. The Westmark also comes in a rocker shape, but this camber board will be better for higher speeds and holding an edge than its rocker counterpart.
Key Features:
- Blunted Tips – The blunted tips of the board reduce swing weight, so the board is slightly easier to turn while still providing enough area for floating in snow. Additionally, the blunted tips make butters and other ground tricks much easier.
- Grip Tech – Many park runs are partially covered in ice later in the day. The Westmark has four extra contact points on the edge of the board. These cut into the snow and ice like a serrated knife, which helps riders hold an edge more easily.
- Full Twin – This board is a true twin, so riding switch will feel the same as riding regular.
- Sintered Base – The sintered base helps the bottom slide freely over the snow, making this board faster.
- Environmentally-Friendly – Back when Arbor got its start in the 90s, it was just as concerned with protecting forests as it was with making boards. Arbor's main focus has been the reforestation of Hawaiian Koa forests because that's where native Hawaiians got their wood for surf boards. Plantations destroyed much of the forest, but Arbor has planted 350,000 Koa trees and reforested 800 acres of woodlands with native plants since 1995. For each board they make, they plant more than one Koa tree.

 Yo what up guys TJ here out snowboarding at Woodward Copper out at their summer camp for week 7 and today I'm checking out the Arbor Westmark Camber the Frank April edition. Alright guys so the Westmark Camber is a true twin freestyle leaning snowboard although it could be pretty solid for like all-mountain freestyle as well. It's a positive camber snowboard from contact point to contact point for the entire length of the snowboard and it also runs a mid flex I'd say right around a 5 out of 10 pretty solid middle-of-the-road flex on this guy. The Westmark Camber is a really versatile snowboard and there's a few pieces of tech that Arbor threw in this guy that I really like a lot so on all their camber boards they run the camber system is what they call it so full camber and right underneath the contact points so the widest point in the snowboard on the nose and the tail they have what they call uprise fenders so the base and the edge is actually lifted up just a little bit helping to make it a little more catch-free even though you're gonna have that really powerful precise feeling that camber offers

 Sure. Especially half hyper jumps, you want that camber because you need to dig on that edge. Yeah. And it's like they're both pretty catch free

 You know, nobody's perfect and, you know, it's like somebody said to me what, like, you know, I was talking about shock absorption of a binding and they said, well, why would you want to land flat? Nobody fucking wants to land flat, but sometimes you do. I just did. Every, like, no matter how good of a rider you are, you're going to land flat sometimes. So like on the rocker, if you're going to land off, you're just not going to have that tail to help you out of it

 And the Westmark just handled it like an all-mountain freestyle board. So it's really like, what would I call this? I call this a freestyle board. But I would say it's a freestyle board that could double as an all-mountain rider, because it's got a pretty stiff flex, and it's not very chattery. It's not chattery

 Personally, I own a Harbor Westmark reverse camber and I rode it all the time in powder. Powder, it's excellent. But like you said here- You rode the rocker, right? I went with rocker. Yeah

 So what you have is parabolic camber, so it's less camber out in the tips or kind of similar to traditional camber with Uprise Fenders. A 3D shape that raises the contact points, that way you get more of a surfy feel out at the tips. Then you have Grip Tech underfoot, which is an added contact point, so you can steer the board right underfoot instead of out at the contact points. So basically, traditional camber with an added contact point underfoot and raised contact points out at the tip and the tail

 So the Westmark camber is one of those park boards that's just a hair below middle of the road flex for park. What that means is you get more play out in the tip and the tail, and then it stiffens back up through the center. You're going to notice an okay amount of torsional flex, so you'll really be able to twist the board. But yeah, this is a board that is versatile enough to be a quiver of one freestyle board that you can take around the mountain due to the flex pattern in it and the stability that it offers

So with this board having more traditional camber in it with Arbor's camber system, you can really load it up and get pop. If you've been coming off of the reverse camber version of this or the rocker version, you can still be late and lazy with your snap on it

 It's just, it's a park board. It's not designed for railing full-blown Euro carves 24-7. The occasional one, yeah, it's got you covered, so you don't really have to worry about it too much. So who's this board for? This is a board that's designed for the park guy that's going to go cruise the whole mountain when he needs to

The Arbor Westmark Camber Snowboard Review

 Today I've got the Arbor Westmark Camber Edition. It's the Frank April Pro model. This thing's pre-rides, full camber profile on it. Comes with Arbor's proprietary grip tech edges

 Fantastic for digging into the hardback like today. Fantastic camber board if you're really into the more aggressive profile boards. I'd say it's about probably six out of ten flex, maybe even a little stiffer. It's got blunted nose and tail, which is great for if you get into some of the softer snow, which I found a little couple pockets

 I ride 20-40 boards a year and this is the only board in a few years that I NEED to own. It's pricy as hell for a standard board but it may be the best freeride board I've ever had the pleasure to strap onto.

Currently I'm riding a GNU T2B, I progressed a lot with freestyle with it, but tbh thats not where my passion is. It was kind of a mistake to purchase it, but it did progress me so I don't regret it too much.

**I'm looking for a board for powder, carving and going high speed on the grooms. I hope this can be achieved on one board..** As I plan on keeping the T2B for now, freestyle is not a priority. Even if I decide to sell the T2B, I think that all of these would be able to do simple kickers and 180s?

**The options I'm currently looking at are:**

1. Bataleon Camel Two 2021
2. Jones Flagship 2021
3. Nitro Squash 2020
4. Libtech Orca 2021 (I think its more expensive, can't check without being in store)

BTW, my bindings are Burton Mission 2020 and boots are Nitro Venture Pro 2020, that I don't intend to replace.

I'm not from the US so my options are more limited, but if you have more recommendations I'll be happy to hear, maybe I will have the option to get it. Ignore budget for now, as prices are very different here and they depend more on who is the importer rather than the board's actual price in the US...

Powder/Carving/High Speed Board Recommendation

 Carbon fiber bases though are insanely fast. I got this board and instantly it just has they just speed up faster that's the best that way I can put it. This board is fast it carves really good it's amazingly good in powder. Also beyond the spectral braid this board has two carbon fiber towards rods in the tail this makes the tail quite stiff it is a very unique short tail it is meant to hold an edge very very well

 It is a bit of a pain you have to really loosen both of them off and blah blah blah. It's not super simple that was my biggest bugaboo on the binding but all in all people should really not think that the K2 bindings are just a department store. This is a very responsive binding. It has these little bushings too in the base of the binding that you can put different ones in to adjust kind of the flex or in the canting of the base plate

 Rive used to do this with their all their cap timelesses and stuff and it really helped board sales because people could actually see what the board was made of and what they were getting for their bang for their buck. This is so smart because everything in this board not only does the board look absolutely beautiful but you can actually see that these guys aren't messing around it's not just some slap-together sandwich snowboard this is a serious piece of machinery something for people to also know with K2 snowboards is that yes people there's a reputation for K2 boards because they're in sport check that they're somehow cheap or they're a department store board but I want to reiterate this board will slap you in the face and steal your girlfriend like this is a real snowboard it's there's no joke right now they have Pat Moore on the team Sage Cotsenberg they've been doing some really good pushes with marketing this is this board I hate to say but like that this is an orca killer you know this is this is this keeps up with some of the other big big boards out there that are selling really well well this is probably one of the best boards I've ridden in a long time and and I would like to thank Jason Hilton again for really for hooking me up man like this was above and beyond what he needed to do and I actually missed this board because I do enjoy riding it a lot so I just wanted to want to give a really good review of the K2 Alchemist next year's is different only in that really they've changed the nose and tail to a more of an orange color looks awesome and I really got back in these guys I big time so thank you everyone and I hope you enjoyed the season of board reviews that'll be it for me I think and hope to see you next year have a good day bye

 So since this board is that more aggressive, hard-charging board, we wanted to have a majority camber profile here. So that camber is going to give you really good edge hold through variable conditions, a lot of pop, a lot of drive in and out of your turns. And then that rocker out in the tip is going to help with float and powder as well as easy turn initiation. So it's a perfect camber profile for this style of board
