First off the K2 alchemist. Let's put it this way. I ride 20-40 boards a year and this is the only board in a few years that I NEED to own. It's pricy as hell for a standard board but it may be the best freeride board I've ever had the pleasure to strap onto.

Alchemist will suit exactly what you like to ride. Carves like a beast on groomers, very stable even in terrible conditions and edge hold will handle ice no problem provided you have good technique. Only issue was I had trouble doing tight trees at first because I wasn't used to the longer nose on a directional board. I widened my stance which seemed to have fixed that problem and I can rip thru making tight turns now.

I have a K2 alchemist and I think it's great. It's super stiff and strong. It's a absolutely perfect board for freeride, I just wish it had some for of magnetraction for those icy spots but overall amazing board

Looking for a board that is stable at speed even in chunder, stiff but not like riding a 2x4, good edge hold in ice, will not nose dive if powdery conditions are found, and is nimble for linking jump turns in off-piste steeps. Currently most interested in the K2 alchemist. Have also given the Jones flagship & stratos, and the LT Orca some thought.
