First of all, let me say that I rated the Alexa and Smart Features in the middle just because I don't use them -- at least not yet. So don't judge the product based on that!

Overall Pros: - Very nice picture with direct lit display - DolbyVision, HDMI 2.1 120 Hz, and eARC (passes Dolby Atmos sound correctly) - Smart TV features load quickly - Has the ability to load basically any streaming app that you need - Google voice remote with added functionality (for instance, the playback buttons such as pause and fast forward will control my Apple TV box) - AirPlay built in Overall Cons: - You may have privacy concerns about using a Google connected TV and you must accept Google’s terms in order to unlock the full functionality of this TV - The TV defaults to using MotionFlow on every input and on every app - You have to change this setting manually multiple times if you don’t want to use it - Even the enhanced HDMI ports default to standard interface - You have to manually set them to the enhanced mode or else your connected devices won’t use all the advanced features that you’re paying for with this higher end TV - The advanced HDMI functions are only available on 2 of the 4 HDMI ports - This means that if you connect a sound bar to HDMI 3 for eARC you will only have one input that is capable of using the Dolby Vision and 120 Hz functions. If you have a second advanced device (such as if you want to connect both a new generation game system and a streaming device) then you’ll need to use some sort of extra switching device since both won’t be able to be connected to the TV at the same time. In summary, I highly recommend Sony TVs

On day 2 I was unable to get the TV to respond to the remote to turn on. I used the physical power button in the bottom middle of the TV to start it manually and the remote functioned fine after that. Since that, the remote has functioned flawlessly to turn on the TV. I have no idea what caused the initial issue

As for the controller, Bluetooth works great, you’ll just have to make sure it’s plugged into a charger elsewhere.

This TV (I know, it is a FireTV) is very app/streaming centric, but once I found the setting to default to last input, and that is 99% of the time HDMI1, then it behaves like I want, turn on and display my input, not the apps home screen where I have to use the TVs remote to clear it and show input in HDMI1. I mainly use the remote for my satellite service, and rarely use the TV one, but since it is also the streaming apps, I will use it, and it adds yet another Alexa mic to do things from, TV related or not. TV can be slow sometimes to turn on (it turns on reasonably, but doesn't show what is on the input for a while), again thought the remote was misbehaving again, it was just taking time to show anything. Sound is better than old TV, none of them are real great, I do have a sound bar but I can use this TV with out for watching news and normal shows (not action movies or things with lots of audio like music)

The sound from my apple tv not work, i didnt change anything from my old tv setup. The appletv plugs into the sony dvd player, and then the dvd eARC plugs into the tv. The tv and dvd also have an optical audio cable link. With this new one i had to plug in appletv directly to the tv to get the sound to work

I will say that the FireTv interface is very spammy. There's a few sponsored banners on the home page. A lot of the recommendations are for Prime Video -- which I have -- but a lot of them aren't free with Prime. They're recommending me content that I have to buy /rent -- which makes it feel like I'm being advertised to

I have cable and for some reason I don't have the ability to get into my DVR, even though there is a DVR button on my controller. That's my only real complaint, other than how unuserfriendly the whole setup process is.

I was mad, but Amazon customer service really came through. They ordered a new one and had UPS pick up the damaged one. Within a few days, everything was made right. I’m grateful for that
