I purchased these for running and have put about 20-30 miles on them. They're comfortable under and around the foot. Good support, nice wide toe box. Good laces and upper

 After four miles run with low cut socks, my skin was rubbed raw. Another half mile I probably would have been bleeding. Such a stupid design decision. What am I supposed to do with these? Most of my running socks are cut below the tongue

Avoid. Tongue digs into skin.

  That said, this shoe is light, and exactly the fit I have come to expect from an Altra shoe.   If you love Altras, you will have a hard time finding fault in the weight and fit of this shoe.  I just wish that made the tongue more of a mesh material.

Unexplainable stiff tongue

 I love the wide toe box on these and they are comfortable, but they are falling apart. The upper is separating from the sole in 3 places (2 places on 1 shoe and 1 on the other), the mesh is significantly fraying on both shoes, and there are parts of the sole that are coming apart in the front and back of both shoes. To look at these shoes you would think I’ve worn them 12 hours a day on tough trails for over a year. I would not purchase these shoes again

Comfortable but poorly made

Saucony's Triumph 19 is great, too, though still 8mm drop and a bit heavier. If you're comfortable with zero drop, Altra's Torin 5 is a great cushion-to-weight ratio long run cruiser, but make sure you size up as they run a bit short.

I like lightest shoes possible with low drop if possible.  I use all of the endorphin line but the shift don’t really work for me beyond 10 miles.  I have Skechers Max Road 4+ that I use for long runs (over 10 miles) and I am trying to go beyond the 13 miles that is my typical long run to get to something nearer 20 with a goal of doing marathon and maybe beyond starting 2022.  The Skechers are okay but I’m looking for better -  any recommendations ?  This is for training not race purposes.

Really need long slow run shoe advice

 The top of the tongue isn’t padded.  It’s quite sharp, and it cut into my skin (literally) after a few miles.  Kind of a weird design oversight.  Probably not a problem if you run in taller socks, but I prefer the short ones

 I have two pairs of trail running shoes a pair of hiking boots and then these. They are extremely light and comfortable. If you are looking for a pair of zero drop running shoes with a wide tow box, these should be your go-to. They probably wont last as long as some other brands just due to the materials, but they are the perfect value at price vs quality

 I have moved on from other brands like Brooks for the same reason. Gave Altra a chance, but not again. Back to Hoka.

Same experience as other reviewers here, they are not a durable shoe for the cost. I bought a pair of Torin 5's, two days later, the tread started separating from the sole of the shoe. That should have been my warning sign. I was able to take those back to FleetFeet to exchange

 Received a new pair, just over a month later, same issue, Outside 30 day exchange from FleetFeet, so I sent an email to the Warranty group, no response. I get that shoes will wear down, but at the cost of $150 a pair, I expected more. I have moved on from other brands like Brooks for the same reason. Gave Altra a chance, but not again

 I again, as you know, have a narrow foot and you can kind of see i've buckled this in a little bit, but asics makes a little bit of room there for you to buckle it in. May you have a wider foot. How did you feel it fit? So i really liked the fit of the upper, and it reminded me quite a bit of the saucony endorphin pro in terms of the fit and also the lightweight design and build. I will say that this shoe might actually be a little bit wider in the forefoot

 You'Re going to notice, it has kind of diagonal lines, and what that does is you can have very thin open mesh in one part and then a little bit of a stronger mesh weave in the other part, and that lets a ton of air come in. So, as you're coming through, asics tested this with the meta racer as the air is coming through, it cools down the feet, cooler body, lower heart rate, excellent. It breathes really well with this design. The way that it's woven laterally, it can still hold your foot well and keep it in place without having to have like a really thick mesh

 We saw it on yuki, people are posting, you know, pictures on instagram and everybody wants to know is asics coming to the plate with a viable super shoe that i'm gon na say off the bat i'm gon na call this the lannister megan won't know what that Is because she didn't watch game of thrones, but jamie lannister was the king slayer and i'm gon na tell you we might have a king slayer in this show bold, i'm gon na start off bold. He also lost a hand, but that's a whole different story. So meg, where do you want to start with the shoe? I say: let's start with the upper, did you know that this upper is made from recycled water bottles or plastic bottles? I guess they didn't have to have water in them, but it's percent recycled. So before we get even into the performance, this shoe is a great environmental shoe up on the upper here and asics mentioned that that is one of their goals for all their shoes

 Moving forward, they're gon na have a recycled component in the buffer, but who cares if it's environmentally sound, if it doesn't perform well and this upper performs? Well, it is super light. Super breathable meg tell them about the design. So it's just one piece: mesh upper super thin, like thomas said, really breathable. The whole goal of this was just to make it as light as possible and breathable and minimal, but also giving you the structure and support that you need around the heel and collar yeah

 So S, S, so sky think stride, edge think cadence.

 Okay, so I test, I've been testing both.

 It's been very interesting to go back and forth between the two.

 But ASICS Meta, even though they look exactly the same,

 a little confusing for the consumers out there,

 but ASICS Metaspeed Sky Plus think stride,

 meaning the shoe is designed ergonomically and geometrically

 through the midsole and through the drop for runners
