Altra needed to trim up their toe-boxes; but not this much.

The media could not be loaded. This review is for runners and especially runners who hate the new Toruń’s! These shoes arrived in a beat up box with no Altra paperwork or other packaging details. The shoes themselves smell like they just came out of the factory. It also took a really long time for them to arrive

Knockoffs but just as good

Initially, I hated these shoes (but I love them!)! My boyfriend and I spent weeks (literally) looking for a new pair of shoes for me due to my feet widening after having a baby, and growing half a size. My ASICS were no longer doing it for me because my toes were squished.  These shoes have such a wide toe box and a good amount of cushion on the bottom, both of which were difficult to get used to while working out after my toes had been squished for two years in super uncomfortable shoes! But after about a week of wearing them constantly and going for long walks in them, they became my favorite shoe EVER! The arch support is great, which I was looking for. The wide toe box allows for your toes to move freely and BREATHE!  The only complaint I have is, without having put too many miles on them yet, the fabric on the inside of the shoe near my heel has already worn a hole

...super disappointing! An easy fix with a band aid under the sock, and making sure you're wearing a thicker or wool sock while in use

 My feet also get REALLY hot in them, towards the end of my 5 mile run it feels like they're burning. On the flip side, they're cushiony 🤷 Will give them another week before I rule them out completely.

 I again, as you know, have a narrow foot and you can kind of see i've buckled this in a little bit, but asics makes a little bit of room there for you to buckle it in. May you have a wider foot. How did you feel it fit? So i really liked the fit of the upper, and it reminded me quite a bit of the saucony endorphin pro in terms of the fit and also the lightweight design and build. I will say that this shoe might actually be a little bit wider in the forefoot

 You'Re going to notice, it has kind of diagonal lines, and what that does is you can have very thin open mesh in one part and then a little bit of a stronger mesh weave in the other part, and that lets a ton of air come in. So, as you're coming through, asics tested this with the meta racer as the air is coming through, it cools down the feet, cooler body, lower heart rate, excellent. It breathes really well with this design. The way that it's woven laterally, it can still hold your foot well and keep it in place without having to have like a really thick mesh

 We saw it on yuki, people are posting, you know, pictures on instagram and everybody wants to know is asics coming to the plate with a viable super shoe that i'm gon na say off the bat i'm gon na call this the lannister megan won't know what that Is because she didn't watch game of thrones, but jamie lannister was the king slayer and i'm gon na tell you we might have a king slayer in this show bold, i'm gon na start off bold. He also lost a hand, but that's a whole different story. So meg, where do you want to start with the shoe? I say: let's start with the upper, did you know that this upper is made from recycled water bottles or plastic bottles? I guess they didn't have to have water in them, but it's percent recycled. So before we get even into the performance, this shoe is a great environmental shoe up on the upper here and asics mentioned that that is one of their goals for all their shoes

 Moving forward, they're gon na have a recycled component in the buffer, but who cares if it's environmentally sound, if it doesn't perform well and this upper performs? Well, it is super light. Super breathable meg tell them about the design. So it's just one piece: mesh upper super thin, like thomas said, really breathable. The whole goal of this was just to make it as light as possible and breathable and minimal, but also giving you the structure and support that you need around the heel and collar yeah

 Midsole, flight foam, turbo, Asics grip on the outsole, and a $250 price point, all right? And that full review score, 7.2 out of 10. 7.2 out of 10

 Again, I would definitely do Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 if you're looking for a little more comfort for your 26.2 miles of racing out there around the world. Marathon Racing: Asics Metaspeed Sky+ Full Review - YouTube

 Anything more than that and it's a no go. You'd be all right for a few miles but I think if you wanted to wear these for a half marathon or marathon race, you want that extra little bit of wiggle room. I've got to be honest, this is a shoe that I only really want to run at higher paces in. It's not something I bring out for a canter around the block or something

 The ASICS Nova Blast 2 and the Gel Nimbus 24 both fit me perfectly in a UK size 10 and a half and that's exactly what I've got here in the Metaspeed Sky. They're just about spot on really as long as I'm using a quite thin race sock. Anything more than that and it's a no go. You'd be all right for a few miles but I think if you wanted to wear these for a half marathon or marathon race, you want that extra little bit of wiggle room

 That's going to extend the life of the shoe quite considerably I think. It's a small sacrifice of extra rubber, extra weight but I think that's going to be to the benefit of the shoe making it a vastly more durable model. A lot of brands are actually removing some of that exposed midsole material where you don't need it and that's helping them to add a little bit more rubber to the bottom of the shoes onto the outsole without having to increase the weight and of course that's the big thing. Everyone wants a nice light ratio

ASICS METASPEED SKY - Long Run Review

Today I tested the ASICS METASPEED SKY over an 11 miles or 18km ish distance in some dry but windy conditions! 16mph winds with some 9c  temps.

At around 7:13/mi pace on todays run keeping at a high level with 3 x 3 mile reps at close to my half marathon effort.

I discuss the upper, midsole and outsole performance on what is close to my regular long run route.

The Metaspeed Sky - despite looking amazing - wes also too narrow and short for me. The only one that fit was the NB RC Elite 2s, which I had to go 1.5 sizes up in. I think the performance differences between these shoes will pale in comparison to the difference you'll feel from what fits best

Have run just one full before with endorphin speed, everything went ok, but had some arch pain, ended up,pretty beat up but was able to walk home including a huge set of stairs.
I know is a slow pace and I think that confort should be above performance.

Marathon shoe for a 8’48” min/mile 5’25” min/km pace

perfect size, very light, shape of outsole seems to push you forward, very happy for now.

It'S the lightest and most responsive compound to date, and just getting this on foot, it's so soft, it's so responsive asics truly has a super foam. Now, with this shoe, it feels amazing, when you get picking up the pace, especially under five minutes
