I've been looking at slings for a while now but have yet to pull the trigger on one.  I rocked a fanny pack as a kid in the 80s/early 90s but never looked back once I grew out of it.  I struggle a bit with the whole man purse vibe TBH.  As a dad though I frequently find myself in the need for something more than what my pockets can comfortably accommodate without going full blown backpack.  So my question is this for you sling folk:

If you were trying to convert someone to sling bags, which one would you have them try and why?  What sling made you a believer?

Bellroy sling has been serving my edc well for a couple months.  I carry everything you mentioned and a couple small pouches as well.

Hey guys, first time poster here... I have both small and medium DSPTCH sling pouches and while they are good, the small is a bit to small for EDC and the medium is too big for my EDC... Any recs on something in between?

My EDC basically consists of wallet, key holder, phone, car keys, hand sanitizer, pen and mask. I don't really have a need to carry much more than that on a day to day basis but would be nice to have some room leftover for those days when I need to bring a little more (like a small camera like a Ricoh GRIII)...

Sling Recommendation? (already have DSPTCH sling pouch med &amp; small)

 Are these two divider pockets? You know they're. It'S pretty much perfect height for, like my wallet, testing and piety er right now, it's kind of sacrilege, I think, to have this pioneer wallet inside of inside of this belt right should be a bell right wrong right, I don't know, I don't know. What'S going on this week with the testing flow, but yeah I mean these two one of the things I had to get used to is kind of shoving it in so it's a horizontal here doesn't fit in when it's tall, which i think is fine, but in Most things I fit it in tall and you can see, I mean the size, it definitely should fit in there, but it's just the way this pocket is constructed and how low the zipper is that kind of obstructs it. So it's a little bit harder to get in again minor, minor, minor gripe, but just something to consider

 So inside I've got my tambien mask v3 for anybody. That'S familiar with the versions that they do: Felix gray, glasses, which I've been testing out blue light, glasses and then my keys in here now also with the keys in here they're at the back of this pocket. So you know whenever I need access to these. It'S not like they're on a long leash

 So I like that. I, like that, it's automatic, if you know, if it's more empty than how I have it now it just compresses down and that's really nice. We have a magnetic buckle here that you can easily take on and off. I rarely ever took this on and off though I just always along this kind of older over my shoulder when I was wearing it nice metal hardware here, this strap itself is soft

Bellroy Sling Mini Review (2 Weeks of Use)

 It is lightweight and the magnetic catch is neat and very secure (although not really needed). Double zip opening is ideal and the material used is spot-on. No complaints - I grab this on the way out knowing I have everything I need.

  The material was rough, not comfortable to handle. It grated on my clothes. If a bag material is not comfortable to handle, I don't use it, the bag ends up taking space in my closet.  Size was another issue: I can fit my iPhone 11 Pro Max and Ray-Ban sunglasses in the case, but when I hung the pack around my shoulders or waist, the strap automatically pulled the pack smaller

Hard cases might work better with this pack, but the Oakley cases I have are too big to fit; if they did, they would create unsightly bulges that break the streamlined look of the pack

 I think another pair of D rings at the back plane of the pack to secure the strap would make the strap concept work better.  I returned this item.

  In the product and review videos, the straps looked good looped back, but in use, the strap hung askew--it was held by the D ring on the front of the pack, but the pack drooped awkwardly. I bought this bag to be an extension of my pockets and a step-down from my backpack. I got sick of carrying a 20L backpack with 5 things on some days. Most days I carry my phone + mag safe charging pack, an iPad Pro 11 + charger, AirPods Pro a slim wallet with three cards, hand sanitizer, a pack of wet butt wipes (nothing beats a fresh feeling ass tbh), a stethoscope and a Topo designs mini accessory pouch (contains spare contacts, eye drops, bandages, a shoe wipe and a body wipe). I also carry a hydroflask 21oz

Looks great, rugged, good zippers, and I use this daily, and thinking now about getting a bigger one.

 The zippers come with leather pulls and are of the YKK variety, so you know they’ll endure as much as you can throw at them. There’s also a magnetic quick-release buckle in the middle of the strap, which feels as premium as the rest of the bag—it almost makes us feel guilty we didn’t use it as much as we thought we would. 

 Fortunately, the Sling Mini improves on that while retaining a lot of the features we like on the bigger Sling. While it does come in a smaller size, there’s still a lot to love in the smaller sibling.

Let’s bring attention to the top of the bag, where we find both the front and main compartment openings. The front compartment’s zipper is shrouded by gusseted fabric courtesy of the front of the sling. It helps keep a cleaner aesthetic by not exposing the zipper elements, and you end up with a much flatter profile when the bag is compressed.
