I’m running my dailys and long runs in the adidas solarboost 3. The solarboost line has some stability features while still being a neutral trainer. Not a huge stack but the boost is pretty good cushioning.

Looking for a more stable neutral shoe for daily mileage, that I can also use for my long runs. Currently running in NB 1080v11 that’s been giving me some discomfort in my knee on longer runs. While I like the cushioning of the 1080, I’m wondering if I could benefit from a more stable neutral shoe (tend to pronate a bit). I’ve also tried the NB More v3 (bad hotspot on top of foot), and Mach 4 (too firm). Previously ran in Hoka Rincon’s, and after going through 2 pairs the midsole just gets kind of boring and lacks durability. Wondering if anyone here has tried the Saucony Endorphin Shift 2? Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews, but also seems like a solid option considering the stability aspects of the shoe.

Any stable neutral daily trainer suggestions?

 Right I think that's it so let's get into how it feels. Okay so first up, I would say this is personally more towards those sort of longer run shoes, I'm not, I wouldn't say it's a max cushion shoe in any shape or form but it's definitely I think more suited towards those longer runs, I think a good comparison of this shoe is probably something like and you're probably going to kill me for this but I think something like an A6 Nimbus 23 maybe, something that's not that great at going fast but can eat miles particularly on those longer runs but also can do some of the other stuff, let me know in the comments what do you think but that's that's kind of where I see this shoe along those sort of lines. It feels quite low to the ground, it's got a relatively low stack height, I mean comparing it to for example the Ultra Boost 21 which has got massive amounts of stack, it does feel like a low ground contact as you're running in it which you may like, the boost is, now I've never been a massive fan of boost compared to some of the latest midsoles out there, it doesn't do a lot for me, I found it a bit softer than the Ultra Boost 21 that I've been running in as well but in terms of energy return it wasn't lighting me up like some of the midsoles out there at the moment but it wasn't uncomfortable, it was soft-ish but I just, yeah I just felt like I was low to the ground and I could really feel that ground contact which for me over those longer runs is not something I want, I want something with a little bit more cushioning, that's again personal preference, it just felt it just felt a bit boring, there was nothing to it, a bit lifeless is probably the right way to describe it I think, it was a nothing shoe when I was out there, when you picked up the pace it was all right, don't get me wrong this is not a light shoe and it's not a heavy shoe so it wasn't you know I can't complain about the weight but it just, I don't know, I can't just dragging my feet along in those higher tempo runs that I was doing in it, I put some pace through it and yeah it just wasn't just wasn't giving me anything and that's the thing I think with this shoe, it's just a bit of a dud, I don't see really why you would pick this over some of the other shoes out there at the moment, you know for example the A6 Nimbus Lite 2, I'd have the A6 Nimbus Lite 2 all day long even the 23 like I mentioned before, I think the Pegasus 37 which I've absolutely rinsed on this channel, I think is arguably a better shoe than this, it's just a little bit more to it with the Air Pods, the React foam, it just gives that nice combination on those longer runs and those sort of short runs which you can do with the Pegasus, I think even and again it's probably the wrong shoe to compare it against but something like from Hoka, like a Clifton 7 which is a max cushion shoe you could argue and I say I'm probably comparing it against it but that just seems a little bit more, has a little bit more to it than this, I don't know I just for me I don't I don't know why you would buy it, it's just 140 pounds is a lot of money, beacon 3 under 100 pounds so I think that's the way to conclude the video is there's nothing wrong with this shoe, it's just really boring, it doesn't really give you much back, it's a lot of money, it's not particularly light, it's not particularly heavy but it's just not very sexy, it doesn't do anything for you as a runner and as I've always said on the channel, you know it's got to be light, it's got to be inexpensive, it's got to make you feel awesome, well it's not particularly light, it's not particularly light, it's not particularly cheap and it doesn't make you feel awesome.

 The shoe weighs I think for memory 10 point something ounces, where's my notes? 10.8 ounces, 305 grams so it's on the heavier side, it's not as heavy as the UltraBoost 21. You've obviously got loads of boost in the midsole, you've got these energy sort of rods or rails down the side, I'll show you them in a sec, it's got a 10 mil drop. You've got the LEP which is like the torsion sort of system sort of come over from the UltraBoost and it's there also to boost propulsion as well, I'll show you in a sec what I mean

Adidas Solar Boost 3 Review - YouTube

They're a well-supported, springy/cushioned shoe with pretty good durability. I found I had to go half a size up in Adidas compared to other brands (I'm a UK 8.5, but had to get these in a 9).

Thoughts on these Adidas supernovas. I’m fairly intermediate runner, training 6-7 times p week

I spotted the new Solarboost 3 on the Adidas website and decided to give it a go after reading comments about it being wider. I snagged 25% off and received it today. The fit is actually similar to the Symmetros for my wide feet but a bit more snug race like fit if that makes sense, while my high volume foot did easily slide in.

Adidas has revamped the Solarboost to be lighter and wider fit that’s TTS for 2E feet for stable long miles.

I ordered these shoes without having worn any Adidas before. They’re comfortable, fit well and have a nice style to them. I ordered another pair in a different color.

Better than expected

 I was really disappointed. That traction pattern is very varied. It's got a bit of grip there. Although I did find with the small cut out areas that they do hoover up the stones

 Ok, let's get to it. Upper first. It's almost a neoprene laptop vibe about this one. There's a hefty old section of it in the back there and most interestingly a split heel cup at the back

 It was really innovative and led to a whole genre really being created from that tune. So do go and check that one out some of Randall and Andy C's early jungle tunes from the mid 90s. You'll really enjoy them. Okay thanks for tuning in guys I very much appreciate it

 Stats wise we have a 10mm drop from heel to toe, certainly a neutral shoe here with a couple of little nods to stability. I mean you've got those rails on the side obviously and a weight of 370g in my UK size 11.5, US size 12. It clocks in just over 13oz so

12 miles into the shoe and i give you my thoughts on this lower stack boost offer from adidas. Never judge a book by its cover. Very survivable at easy pace and great at steady / aerobic efforts. Stable as an old 1910 house and resilient underfoot.

I give my thoughts on the upper, midsole, outsole and value, my honest thoughts after actually running in the shoe. What a maverick idea!

Best Running Shoes of 2022 - GearLab

 I think the main areas are in the hill versus version one and the overlays, which definitely, i feel add a little bit of structure we'll come to that in a second but, like i said, the outsoles unchanged mid cells, unchanged, okay right, so that's the stats and Features, it's definitely a heavier feeling shoe there's about well, not much in it i'll put the weights up in terms of the differences between the two, but there's not much in it, but there is definitely a little bit more weight in this shoe versus this one uh. This shoe is 155 pounds by the way i forgot to mention. Let me just put version one back: okay right so in terms of feeling, if you've never tried a speed, um shoe, it doesn't matter version. One version: two: the heel to toe transition is incredible

 If you can only buy one pair of shoes, people it would be the saucony endorphin speed, either version one or version two 

 You can see how i ruined it and that's the problem with white shoes, but anyway we'll talk about the differences.
