Best frugal alternative options in general?
There's no reason to pay $14 for a brand name witch hazel toner except for the pretty bottle and added scent, and you can add scent yourself with a drop of essential oil. (For the scent, like they should be used for, but do a little research to make sure it won't irritate your skin.). For where it counts, spend the money on good makeup and on researched serums or fancy medicines. But for cleansing products, to do the clean, exfoliate, tone, moisturize... that part is all dirt cheap.
I tried the popular $10 witch hazel toner that over 5,000 Amazon users swear by — and I get what all the hype is about
However, post-personal use, I get the enthusiastic fandom: for me, the Thayers' Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner was indeed gentle, relatively non-drying, and did the job of helping clean off the vestiges of earlier cleansers so the rest of my skincare routine could sink in more effectively. My pores also looked noticeably smaller, and I've started using it as an effective spot-treatment to isolate and treat blemishes as they pop up. If you're looking for a toner, it's a solid option — and it's a big bonus that it's less than $10 for a 12-ounce bottle

The 11 Witch Hazel Products That Go Way Beyond Just Toner
While it’s important to keep this in mind when choosing a product, there’s still some standouts team Byrdie loves out of the above edit. First up is the Mario Badescu Witch Hazel & Rose Water Toner because you get that clean and clarified skin feeling without the associated tightness. Not to mention, we love the Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum because it utilizes the power of niacinamide, barbados cherry, and witch hazel to brighten, refine and plump the skin

THAYERS TONER - Should You Stop Using It - Witch Hazel In Skincare
Use it on those days where you're maybe waking up feeling a little bit oily, a little bit extra greasy. in those summer months where it can just be nice to have a little bit of freshness and mattify the skin a little bit from the start of the day, I won't use it every single day and I'm currently using Witch Hazel in my routine. With this, this is the Witch Hazel toner by typology, which is very, very similar to the Thales one

BEWARE: new formula is terrible!!
They changed the formula! I used the face toner on the left over the past 6 months and I have loved it. I re-ordered it, it had the same description and label. I just used it and it burned and made my face red!! I look at the back and the ingredients are different! It now has phenoxyethanol in it!!

[Review] Rants, Raves, & New Purchases Oct 25, 2020
I liked that it doesn't contain alcohol and that dimethicone was pretty far down on the list, unlike a lot of gel moisturizers that are mostly dimethicone. Haven't tried it yet but it smells good and I like the weighty glass jar it comes in. I don't have particularly sensitive skin so I don't think the citrus extracts will bother me, but we'll find out!. * **Dr. Teal's Eucalyptus Witch Hazel Facial Toner** \- another Walmart impulse buy.
•Thayers Rose Witch Hazel Toner (acne). 2nd Shelf:. •Retinol Serum prescribed by my dermatologist (hyperpigmentation/acne). •Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Night Resurfacing Serum (hyperpigmentation/exfoliation).
False advertising. Inexcusable.
Thayer's description on this (Amazon) website is fraudulent. I've attached a screen grab of the advertised ingredients list, but in case the text is too tiny to read, here's what it says: "Ingredients: Purified Water, Certified Organic Witch Hazel Ext Blend (Hamamelis Virginiana Extract (Witch Hazel...
