 These things are uber flexible with their carbon inserts, seems to be like some kind of plastic composite material that they just do a super job getting through the snow. We tested them out in Rocky Mountain National Park here in the Rockies on a hike to Timberline Falls just a few weeks ago. Tons of snow, we encountered everything from hard pack to deep powder to side-hilling, up-hilling, down-hilling, we did six and a half miles, 1600 vertical feet and in that time I noticed that these were excellent snow shoes for just that type of trip. First thing I noticed though back in the house was they have a super unique binding with a boa attachment on the toe so you just spin it, it tightens up and a simple strap that goes around your heel with one ratchet device to tighten it down

 Did test these on side hills as well with the width, this additional width in front. On a side hill, these are a little challenging to get them to grip and drive, had to try to work to drive that into the hill and so if I had any dings against these would be side hill performance, they have another model that has a reinforced side that may help give you a little more grip on those side hills but these are fantastic and not a lot of people are walking on the type of side hills that we were encountering on this trip as well.  I'm six foot one, 175 pounds so I maybe was pushing it with the large, could have used the medium on this hike even though I tested them in powder, of course they got tons of great float because just look at the size of these babies, they will get the job done for you in powder. They have a cool heel lift which works really well and I like it because it's easy to operate on the trail, we used it a lot and then it just flips up, you just reach down, pull it up and you can do it also with your trekking pole. They're uber springy so I was like let's test them on a jog, so I jogged a few hundred yards with them on, worked really really well and maybe one of the reasons they work well is that they're springy and flexible and so you actually feel the push back on each step and each jogging step, you feel the snowshoe pushing you forward but also the positioning of what I call the front crampon or claw, you see that claw is actually out in front of where the toe would strike so with that claw in front, a lot of times the claws are underneath the ball of your foot and I find those tend to make you stumble. This one was super effective being out front and I really appreciated that claw location

 I wish I had paid a little more and got the MSRs I know and love instead of $300 for these design flawed shoes. I tried to get ahold of the seller to see if they could assist me with Arcturus but there is no contact information to be found. DO NOT BUY THESE SNOWSHOES!!!!

 Then you crank it twice, done. Another good feature about these snowshoes is if you're going uphill, you flip those down. If you guys plan on doing a lot of walking on ice, this thing has pretty killer crampons on the bottom so I wouldn't worry about slipping anywhere. So yeah, if you guys are looking for a good set of snowshoes, I highly recommend the TSL Symbiose Elite snowshoes

I think the deepest snow I've been in would maybe be around two and a half to three feet but with any type of snowshoe, you're going to sink about six inches if it's powder anyway. They work great on ice, hard snow, it's fantastic powder, it's not too bad also. It's good for uphill, going downhill is pretty fun too and yeah, if you guys want to see them in action, I'll link one of my other videos that you guys can go check out if you're interested and yeah, go take a look at that
