I tried to keep the more budget friendly on the left to make the head to head battles easier to read… and at the end of the day, the TRM Neutron 2 takes the win 🥇.

Took me a while but I tried a TRM Neutron recently and it’s great. No thumb hole, but it’s thin stock like a Delica or Chaparral but a bit more “premium” feeling (if that makes sense) and the made in America part is appealing. Some people don’t like the Atom or a Neutron due to how thin the handles are but I think they feel nice.

i’ll go first, a crk 31 large, i have two smalls and theyre amazing. a quietcarry drift, cause vanax, and i like thumbstud knives, and a trm neutron 2 because i like the ease of swapping scales

However, they don’t typically do even grinds when sharpening and the belt sharpeners they use burn the first layer or two of steel. I’d say buy a Bugout and a Lansky or the new WorkSharp precision adjust for like $50. Once you sharpen it a few times yourself you’ll be into good steel. However, if you want *MY* opinion, here are some other great knives to consider in that price range: Delica is awesome, Chaparral is great, Lil’ Native if you can find one in stock (I prefer the Lil Native over the Para 3), TRM Neutron (if you can get one during their drop), Lionsteel Bestman (if you want a slip joint), Boos Mini Smoke (if you can stretch budget a bit).

You seem to like smaller mid size knives that don’t cost $500+. I bet you would love a TRM neutron or atom.

The Neutron 2 tweaks that formula just a bit and makes a great knife an instant classic. Unlike the original, the Neutron 2 has nested liners, which means that the structural elements made of steel are actually nested inside the more hand-friendly handle scale material. Additionally, there’s a bit of a forward choil, as TRM nipped off the pointy tip of the handle closest to the blade
