I am currently using a Motorola MB8600 modem and a TP-Link AC1750 Archer A7 router. I also have Comcast Xfinity 200mb for my internet. I have had almost nothing but problems with the Archer A7, it worked fine for about a week, but now it disconnects 3-5 times a day; and I am pretty sick of not having stable internet. For the record, I am 95% certain it s the router to blame, as when I plug my PC into the modem, I have internet, but when I plug it into the router again, I lose that internet.

TP-link Archer series. I've got about the same amount of wifi smart devices on my Archer C7 AC1750 and it works fine. Granted, I also have most of my media devices hardwired and live in a house rather than an apartment. YMMV
