Tom Bihn Synik 30 Review - the Synik 22’s Bigger Brother is a SOLID Minimal One Bag Travel Pack
That one also comes in at a much lower price point at around 120 125. So if you're looking for a solid and versatile bag, that's not going to break the bank! That's going to be one of the best options to check out with that being said, the cynic 30 holds up really well against all those bags and, if you're looking for a durable and versatile carry-on friendly travel bag, that's going to offer a ton of awesome pockets And it's going to be a fantastic option to check out and i'm definitely curious to hear what you guys think of the cynic 30 and how it compares to some of the other great travel bags that we featured on the channel.

Tom Bihn Synik 30 Alternatives?
I have a Tom Bihn Synik 30 and love it. Most bags don't meet my criteria as they lack both in comfort and quality and the Synik 30 excels in these areas, and is relatively lightweight, has an unassuming shape/inconspicuous, stays lean when not fully packed out, and quite versatile/fits in a lot of situations -- all important to me. It is by far the best bag I own for one bag traveling and light hiking.

Best 28L bag?
Tom Bihn Synik 30: Looks practical, well built, very pricey, I don't like the roundness at all. 3.

Still on the Hunt for a Business-First EDC with a Clamshell Opening for 2-3 Nights Travel
If you’re balling hard enough to frequently be in biz/first and you can drop the $200 price limit, the Tom Bihn Synik 30 hits all the must-haves that you listed.

How come we never talk about cheaper bag options? Anyone ever toss some clothes in a canvas tarp and just get out there?
I actually just downgraded from a Tom Bihn Synik 30 to a Jansport Superbreak Pro (26L). I’ve had a TB Synapse 19 for daily use for 7 years and loved it. Got the Synik for a month-long trip this spring (cut short by 2 weeks because COVID lockdowns hit). Recently I’ve been thinking about what I would have changed as far as gear for that trip and decided I don’t need all those pockets and the Synik is too large and heavy.

AER Day Sling 3 Max - a bag that perfectly fits my use case
I just got this same bag, and it's a perfect design for me too. Fits my iPad Pro 11, headphones, eyeglasses, and much else. It's nice and compact on the subway and while walking around. It also fits inside at the top of my Ton Bihn Synik 30 travel backpack, so before I put up the backpack in the overhead compartment and sit down in my airplane seat, I pull this Day Sling 3 Max out of the backpack, and I have everything I want for my flight.
What is your favorite bag size?
I love 30L bags. My most used bag before my Tom Bihn Synik 30 was a North Face Surge. 30L is just large enough to carry a week's worth of clothes and small enough where I can use it as my EDC and no one bats an eye at its size. Occasionally I've looked at larger bags since I need to pack extra clothes and gear for the work I do, but the convenience of that 30L size is hard to give up.

Aer tp2 X-pac vs Goruck gr2
I don't actually have a preference for either—I'm in love with my Tom Bihn Synik 30—but both packs are highly regarded and have a lot going for them. Buying one over the other shouldn't impact your trip in any way, unless the trip is less about Thailand and more about what backpack you're gonna bring.

Aer Travel Pack 2 X-Pac vs. Tom Bihn Synik 30 (two really nice bags)
The shoe compartment is silly and creates an annoyance as it constantly has to be tucked away (I use packing cubes to maximize space). The Aer Travel Pack 2 seems comfortable but not quite as comfortable as the Synik 30 with the edgeless shoulder straps.

Bag recommendations - 3 weeks in Japan
Personally, I'd use a Tom Bihn Synik 30 for a trip like this. The water bottle pocket is internal instead of external but it works really well.
