As simple as that may seem that missing feature has me considering returning the bag. For my office setting, I need a briefcase (optics/professionalism)(I know, yay, corporate America), so that shoulder strap would be awesome, also carrying the briefcase by the handle, takes away the usage of whatever hand I am using to carry the bag. Cons: It was much heavier than my old backpack, and the amount of padding seems excessive for the size of the bag. It also did not fit fully under the seat for any of my international flights on the trip, so I ended up resting my feet on top of it. I'm short, so this wasn't too bad, but would likely be an issue for taller travelers. I didn't really want to use it on the flight home and was just going to take my purse, but it was so bulky (even empty!) it didn't fit in my suitcase

I actually just downgraded from a Tom Bihn Synik 30 to a Jansport Superbreak Pro (26L). I’ve had a TB Synapse 19 for daily use for 7 years and loved it. Got the Synik for a month-long trip this spring (cut short by 2 weeks because COVID lockdowns hit). Recently I’ve been thinking about what I would have changed as far as gear for that trip and decided I don’t need all those pockets and the Synik is too large and heavy
