Okay, so here is the side view: James is very comfortable in it right now. he's small enough where he doesn't need these stirrups, but it does come with foot stirrups for kids

 All in all, I thought it was great and it worked really well for the week we spent on the North Country Trail.  I also tried the Phil and Ted, Kelty 2.0, Osprey Poco Plus, and one other at REI. This was the winner BY FAR, in my opinion
