Me and my fiancé are first time parents (due in April) and we really don’t know anything about any of this baby stuff! We basically need a carrier that can be used a lot when we go out for walks and so on. I’d prefer it to be grey or black. Price range does not matter as my parents are generously buying the majority of the large baby items we needed.

Looking for carrier suggestions

 By 9 months the snaps pop every time I place him in carrier, no matter how carefully I try, how gingerly I walk, how I am SURE to never bend at waist even an inch, no matter face-in or face-out carry. Snaps pop pop pop immediately. PRODUCT FLAW. SHOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD HIS WEIGHT AS ADVERTISED

I’m 5’8 athletic/average build.

 I am usually home by myself with my son and we walk a couple of times a day, he falls asleep in it and for me to take the carrier off I have to physically put him down to remove the waist lock, which means he wakes up every time. Needing two hands for this makes it super hard to be autonomous.  Also, he seems to regularly get quite bad red marks on his thighs after half an hour in the carrier (facing front or back, he is now 5 months) which look sore. I have tried lowering the waist strap as suggested by someone else, but it still happens on one leg

I have a 7-month-old BIG boy. He’s at 21lbs and 30in in length. He has spent a couple hours a day in my Happy Baby OG since he was born and still really enjoys being carried. My husband carries him in a Lillebaby Serenity as well. Babywearing is also the one full-proof fix to occasional fussiness. 

However, he’s trying to crawl. He’s trying to pull-to-stand. I am itching to get a second carrier (thanks Happy Baby drop announcement,) but is my son going to want to be carried as much in a few weeks? I know all babies are different but I’m interested in what others have experienced.

Lillebaby ve beco gemini

 I bought the Gemini because it was the only Beco that offered front-facing carrying and my son simply won't be carried facing my chest at his age (14 months). That was my biggest criteria. I'm glad for the versatility this carrier offers (front forward facing, front toward facing, on my back). I also like that this carrier helps distribute the weight, so that my hips also do some of the work

 HOWEVER, this carrier is NOT easy to put on or take off, especially not with a wiggling child. It took both my husband and I to get him on my back, and even then, it was difficult. I can't imagine doing that alone. I've been thinking about selling this when another similar carrier with forward facing option comes on the market

Thoughts on which one we should go with?
