 I've seen people put on other versions of the ergo baby unassisted, but this one seems to be more difficult somehow. I have done it a few times by myself, but always with some cursing and feeling like I pulled some shoulder muscle trying to contort to get everything to feel comfortable.  -Once my son was over the weight recommended for the insert, I tried to use it without (since we were getting into spring and, as I mentioned, the insert is really warm). Not what we hoped for

 If you're looking for a good, all-round, long-lasting, multi-positioned baby carrier that does everything, all singing, all dancing, you won't get much better than this. This is the Ergababy Omni 360. There are quite a lot of Ergababy carriers out there. The Ergababy Embrace is quite a nice little one for babies first months and there are some older editions as well but this new one, the Omni 360, this is the Cool Air Mesh version which is very nice and really is the bee's knees

 Maybe this would be good for a taller parent but not for me. It also doesn’t pack away very well, I would prefer something more compact.

I’m 5’2”, ~125lbs and this carrier is much too big for me to use comfortably. My baby fits fine into it, but the back strap doesn’t sit comfortably on my lower back (yes I watched the video on how it works) and the straps are too bulky to fit right on my shoulders. Maybe this would be good for a taller parent but not for me. It also doesn’t pack away very well, I would prefer something more compact
