Specifically, we are looking at the Tempurpedic ProAdapt, medium hybrid. We tried it out at a local Mattress Firm and liked it.

I purchased a Tempurpedic ProAdapt Medium Hybrid back in October, along with an Ease adjustable base. For reference I'm 6'1, 200lbs. I enjoyed the mattress when I slept on my side, but any time I laid on my back I felt lower back pain due to hammocking. I felt the bed didn't have the proper support I needed for my lower back, so today I went to mattress firm to exchange it.

I found the soft to not be supportive enough and hot, I found the firm to be as hard as concrete. I settled on a ProAdapt Medium Hybrid and I loved it for about two months. After that it was extremely unsupportive and super hot. I'm stuck with it now, sadly.

We both liked (not loved) the TempurPedic ProAdapt medium hybrid, and while we can afford it, I just don't think I can justify the price tag. We didn't really like any all foam mattress so I think a hybrid is the way to go. There are no stores locally I can find that sell latex mattresses, so we can't really try any of those. From my research, I don't know that she would like a latex mattress since she really wants to feel absorbed by the mattress.
