Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Review
The Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 lens has some edge sharpness issues, but is an overall solid performer, especially when paired with an APS-C SLR. Sign up for Lab Report to get the latest reviews and top product advice delivered right to your inbox

Great for wildlife and airshows on a budget.
Excellent budget long range zoom. I take photos as a hobby and wanted something that wouldn't break the bank and was reasonably sharp. I have had this lens since 2016 and have used it only a few times a year but I have had excellent results. First it doesn't weigh an excessive amount and can be hand...

5 Stars and Highly Recommended
This is just a preliminary report, since I have only had the Tamron 150-600 for a few weeks and have only had the opportunity to use the lens a few times. This is an impressive lens. I was surprised by the weight. It is difficult to picture just how heavy an item will feel from the figures quoted. B...

DSLR lens for wildlife photography
Keep in mind there’s never “enough” when it comes to wildife, but 600mm is pretty good. The tamron is much lighter, but the sigma is a tad sharper. Both are around $1000-1400 depending what version you get and whether its used etc, if it were me i’d get the tamron 150-600 g2. Anything with 500mm or more in a premium lens you’re looking at $10k easily, once you push beyond 300mm the prices skyrocket especially if you want sharpness and good aperture.

Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 VC USD lens review with samples (full-frame and APS-C)
There aren't any serious problems here, though, especially when the backgrounds are quite deeply out of focus. Overall. This is quite an impressive lens for the money you pay it's built nicely enough and if you're using a full frame a camera, then it's quite sharp, giving you impressive pictures and workability

Excellent IQ But Slow AF Makes BIF Photography Hard
This lens is amazing for the price. But it is not perfect. Looking backwards, the only comparable lenses are professional primes such as Canon/Nikon 500-600mm lenses. This lens gives you 80-90% of what those lenses bring. Older third-party superzooms are notably inferior. Looking forward, Sigma has ...

Great value.
Great lens for the price. This lens really reaches out and on a camera with a hi res sensor gets some amazing results. The first image, for example, is the ISS passing straight overhead. While not great, the fact that it shows this much detail in an object ~250 miles away is incredible. The next is ...

Nikon 200-500mm
I also tried the Tamron 150-600mm and it is also a good lens but I feel that the Nikon 200-500 is just a touch better. The extra 100mm does not mean much on a crop sensor.

The most value you will get at 600mm!
Quite frankly the best VFM telephoto lens you can buy for presently at ~$1100. I'e tried this on my 6D as well as my 500D bodies; and in my opinion, a high ISO and full frame camera will bring you more bang for your buck on this lens. Feels very good in the hand, only the mount is probably metal wit...

Better than what I expected, it is not a waste at all
I have the Canon 100-400mm L, and I was looking for a lens that gets me that better reach without having to pay $14,000. Once I heard about this lens and the previous reviews, I decided to give it a shot as it's anyway cheaper than my 100-400. I got the lens a couple of days back. From the first loo...
