Silky Gomboy

As much as I love the gomboy, it only cuts on the pull stroke, and the handle, although nice, isn't as ergonomic a position as a bow saw. Very rarely, the saw will also jam, usually when you're in a rush to process wood before dark, and there isn't a guard to keep you hand from slipping onto the very sharp blade. Gloves are a must in my opinion.

1st time I used this I thought it worked great…still think it works great, but only the 3rd time I used it and the tip of the saw snapped right off on the pull back. The blade only slightly flexed while sawing through a 3” diameter log.

Really nice saw. The handle is a bit floppy at the back with the over molding. It is razor sharp, but nearly identical to my Corona saw albeit a bit larger and 3X the price. Corona is more plasticy, but both do a nearly identical job in dealing with small to medium branches. The blade and teeth set/...

I had the big boy and ended up giving it to a friend as a thank you for a ski trip (we used it the whole trip). I felt like I needed to downgrade for packibility, but in retrospect I went too far... I should have picked something between the big boi and the 240. GREAT SAW! I ended up going with this...

Have several sharp hand ax's but use this more. Less weight by far, but beware cuts only on pull stroke. Cuts wood, limbs, etc. very well and quickly with big teeth. Nocked a star off due to no blade lock when stored in handle. Very happy with purchase.

Overall quality of the product is very good. The only concern that I have is the casing design, which is made out of plastic. Not sure how it will survive the demand of the BWCA portages over time.

Working well strapped to handlebars on EMTB. The scabbard cap broke on first use but fortunately the rubber holder is securing saw in place. Like soft handle and rugged lock

My 3rd silky saw. I usually have good luck with silky, but I broke the blade after a few uses. Wish it was a little thicker and stiffer.
