The blade is sharp! The blade also tends to warp a little, but it still does the job even with the slight deformation/bends that heavy use has put into it. Overall, good purchase that I am highly satisfied with.

The laplander is similar to the gomboy, but cuts on the push and pull. It doesn't cut that much faster than a gomboy however, as the gomboy blades are VERY sharp and seem to stay sharper longer. The laplander has a more flexible blade however, so you'll be less likely to snap it if it jams compared to the two blades I've had to replace on my gomboy when I first got it.

Either that or the manufacturer should be ashamed of themselves for sending out a brand new saw like the one I received. The latch was off the handle and was severely scratched. There was no sort of paperwork in the box which usually comes with a brand new item. The roll pin and spring which attach and operate the latch were loose in the box

After getting it a few days ago I decided I'd see how it handled. I had some scrub that needed cutting around the house to clean it up. This saw cut through trees around 5" without any issues. I was actually quite surprised how quickly and easily it cut through the wood
