Schwalbe Marathons

I've used Schwalbe Marathons for years. They have been great. I ride 95% on roads, 5% on well-groomed trails.

I'm using this as a rear tire on my work commuter. I ride 6 miles one-way through the two bar districts in my town to get to work. I feel like any Schwalbe Marathons are amazing tires. I've had mine for a couple of years and only 2 punctures, both of which were in the last month.

Daily commuter - I swapped these on for the summer and have 600+ miles on them now - 90% on blacktop 10% gravel. They are heavy, very heavy. Biggest problem is they seem to be unevenly weighted. I have a noticeable wobble in them despite 2x removing and checking the wheel on a truing stand for wheel...

I used a pair of Schwalbe Marathons in 700x38 for my cross country trip, and I liked them well enough that when I got home with worn out tires, I put a fresh pair of the same ones on.

Love the reflectors, Great traction. Great tire but.... Super hard to get on and off the rim. Would give five stars if they were easier to take on and off. Usually I can change out a flat pretty fast but this one took an hour. Would not want to do out on the road.

I love the Schwalbe marathons I’ve had on my Surly LHT for a few years now. I ride on crushed limestone regularly and gravel and have never had a flat (knock on wood). If you’re looking for something lighter, check out WTB or Teravail’s gravel tires

I replaced a 700x28 tire with same and the Schwalbe was that exact size. The old tire was smaller than nominal size. The new Schalbe was about 8 MM taller than the old as I expected given reviews. Schwalbe Marathons are the most common suggestion, and they are good against small debris in the middle of the tire. They stop goat head thorns and tiring belting, the 2 most persistent bits of debris.
