Vittoria Mazza

Nice big patch on the inside of the tire might buy you some time with it. I got a slice in my Vittoria Mazza about about 3 months ago when it was still pretty new and the patch has held up well and I'm still running it tubeless.

Ive had overall good experience with these. They are heavy, they are tough, and they grip well. 3/4 of the way through install with cushcore and I find a spot that looks like it's been hit with a belt sander.

Of the two the Mazza combo is (and it's kinda hard to put in words) softer, more supple, more forgiving? It's also grippier IMO (which is what wanted, both for descents *and* technical climbs). That said, I'd also say the rolling resistance was (somewhat) higher, but not an issue once I adjusted (mentally) to it.

If you're looking at those two combos I'd also recommend Vittoria Mazza/Agarro or if you want a little more grip in the rear you could swap the Agarro for a Martello. Ran the DHF/DHR2 combo last year and these so far have outperformed them everywhere. Less rolling resistance, better grip and protection, plus they might be easier to get since the Minions are so popular.

Vittoria Mazza is the Maxxis Minion killer. Also, try the new Vittoria Syerra which is 2.4 aggressive XC tire aimed at those who ride more tech terrain.
