  Anyways, not going waste any more money on this lock in the future. Will try to call company and see if they will replace it under warranty since it's supposed to have lifetime mechanical warranty. I will update this review based that experience.

I bought 2 locks, one for the main door (exposed to outside weather affect) and another for garage door entrance. On that is in the garage still works with occasionally slipping mechanical gears when using keypad.  One that is at the main door exposed to sun and cold weather stopped working with keypad in less than 2 years. This issue is common, just search online

  Amazon Warehouse Deals Review: Condition of lock = 5/5 , Wouldn't have been able to tell if it was even used Packaging = 4/5 , Not perfect but everything was in the box, wouldn't say it has elegant packaging like Apple Products Price = 5/5 , Half the price ladies and gents! Thats A++  Schlage Lock Review: Physical Quality & Craftsmanship = 5/5 , This thing looks and feels heavy duty (The bright chrome almost makes it look plasticy however) & it surprisingly isn't a fingerprint smudge magnet  Lock Quality & Mechanism = 5/5 , I really like how this thing locks.   Ease of Install = 5/5 , I definitely think this is an almost universal install. If you already have a deadbolt installed you don't have to do much at all. Just unscrew you plating from your old lock, remove the old deadbolt, slide this new one in and add the casing with the battery and everything properly plugged in, and be sure to make sure the cam lock is facing up.  Overall = 4/5 , I did really want more passcode options but it is a great lock and for a great low price (again correct me if I am wrong about this I would be very much appreciative but I didn't see anything in the manual about more than 4 digits)

 I got this lock in Bright Chrome because it was the cheapest ($56). That is a steal compared to its asking price ($100). So for half the price I was very pleased with this lock. Even if I paid $100 I think I wouldn't regret it

Security Options & Passcode = 3/5 , What I wanted more from this lock was to be able to set longer passcodes, (please correct me if I am wrong but you can only have a 4 digit code), I think 4 digits is too easy to guess and easy to see

Great Build, Strong Deadbolt, Modern & Clean Design but Lacking Advanced Programming

.. there are two stickers, one on the lock mechanism, one on the manual, which show the programming code and default entry codes. They had different numbers on them! Took me a while to think of that possibility, remove the lock to see the sticker on the lock (the correct info) and reset the codes

 I suspect this may have happened with a lot of locks!  You should keep the sticker stuck on the lock (no one can see it unless they remove the lock) because if you ever forget your new programming code, the one you've set, you can reset to the factory-set programming code (which requires unscrewing the lock cover and knowing which buttons to push.)  Although the lock allows up to 19 door opening codes at one time, I see no point in having so many valid at one time, except for granting people temporary access (renters, repairmen.) If there is only one valid code the thief has a one in 10,000 chance of guessing; if there are 10 codes the chance drops to 1 in 1,000 and so on.  Passcode hints: You should never reassign a code (if you gave a repairman code 1234, after you cancel it you should never program that code again

 I think this is good because if the deadbolt is not perfectly aligned, a motor that tries to lock the bolt would keep trying until the battery is dead (or the motor burns up.)  There is also a "vacation" setting which really is secure: you must enter your six digit programming code and this blocks ALL four digit codes from working (the key still works.) To unlock after your return from vacation you must enter the six digit programming code plus one of the four digit door codes, which is 10 to the 10th power, or ten billion possible combinations. (In such a case the thief would likely pick the lock or use brute force

Installation was easy since I was replacing an existing Schlage deadbolt (no holes to drill or alignment to worry about) but still would have taken an hour. The reason it took two is

..could only lock/unlock with the keypad about half the time & had to use regular key the other half. Called customer support hoping they had a fix

 As in, you enter the pin and it becomes enabled allowing you to turn the deadbolt as needed. From inside it always works.

Simple, works. Locking mechanism is not electronic.

I bought the first two at depot but one got broken so got this to replace it. The original one you could lock by just pushing "enter" button but this one you have to type in your code to lock it. Otherwise would have given 5 stars
